The recently rediscovered short story 'The Lost One', perfect for fans of Daphne du Maurier, Santa Montefiore and Anya Seton.

First published in Woman's Journal in 1960, and set against the backdrop of unfenced country and dark winding valleys at night, the aptly named 'The Lost One' features The Wind off the Small Isles heroine Perdita West, who brings her characteristic pluck and courage to this classic Mary Stewart tale of suspense and intrigue....

Short, but nice. Narration was good.

Nothing wrong with it. Classic Mary Stewart. It is a good example of how to write a short story.

Exceptional narration

I'm not usually a fan of audiobooks, however, I adore this book. The story is great and the narrator is exceptional, I really felt immersed in the story. Congratulations to Mary Stewart for a fantastic book. Antonia really has a great voice also

Short but not necessarily sweet

Fairly predictable. Well read except a mispronunciation of the River Wear. It is not ‘Wear’ as in clothes but ‘Weir’ as water going over a barrier. Sloppy research on regional pronunciations. 2nd Audible Mary Stewart book I have listened to with mispronunciations of Northern words.
