Kept me listening!

Enjoyed the characters and the storyline. I love books that include mysteries that need to be solved. This book did not disappoint.

Loved these people!

The truth is that you can get used to anything. The narrator of this book is awful. She is one of those readers whose voice is always going up at the end of the sentence. Additionally, she has the most misguided pronunciation of common words. I know the English don’t always pronounce words like we Americans do, however, she doesn’t pronounce words like anyone I’ve ever heard before. Back becomes bock; grass becomes gross; etc. if the author hadn’t engaged me in to the story as soon as she did and made me want to know how the story would develop I might have given up early on and missed out on a wonderful book. The story is well crafted with interesting characters and a mystery built around the hero’s inability to remember what happened to him on the day he almost died. The heroine has problems of her own which she must overcome herself in order to grow into a life she always wanted but never thought she could have. Truly, if you can get through the performance of this book the story is the big payoff.

The story keeps you engaged the whole way through. The characters were likeable. The narration was a bit slow, I had to speed up.

Excellent!

Wonderful character development and the narrator was phenomenal, one of the few female voices that can do male voices well. Many complain about her sing songy cadence, it takes some getting used to but you will learn to love it. I find her best listened to at 1.15 or 1.2.

I do wish there was more in the romance department. For instance how did he not know she was a virgin? That part of the story is vague in the attempt to keep this a clean romance, frankly it needs a little more steam. Other than that, excellent!

Intriguing romantic story

You will easily fall in love with this fast paced romantic story. It is full of surprises and unexpected moments.

Another Excellent Book

I love this author’s books. They are so creativity different than other historical romance novels, and done beautifully in giving you the real romantic intimacy & staying clean, very refreshing. The narrator is one of my least favorites due to her slow sing-song voice & male voice is always done in a whispering feminine voice, distracting for me but the story is wonderful!

Chappppter 1

Narrator put Th’s on a lot of words. Maybe just how they speak where’s she’s from? It detracted from my listening as I found myself trying to guess when another Th would be coming. The story I enjoyed. A but heavy in the overbearing men.

An extremely well written love story. The ending ties together nicely at the end. Looking forward to the next book in the series

I would give it a 5+ if I could

This was a wonderful, dramatic, suspenseful, romantic story—so well written. I was engaged from the start. I thought it was so clever that I had to keep updating my husband on how the story was progressing! Erica also keeps the story moving without any stupid repeating phrases, like “She licked dry lips, the bile rose in the back of her throat, or she dug her fingernails so hard into her palms she almost bled!” Her descriptions of things are done so well that you can see and feel them! Bravo!

This narrator is quite good, even though she's a bit eccentric and ethereal. It’s almost like listening to someone tell a ghost story. If her voices and acting weren’t good, I would be totally bewildered by her. Once I got used to her style, I could pretty much overlook those things… Until she announces the chapters! You kind of have to overlook that part! It does lend a certain amount of humor to the performance.

Great story, terrible reading

Story/book was great, however, the reading was awful. Every other word was emphasized making the ability to follow along almost impossible.
