Outstanding Stories

Paul D. Gilbert's "Lost Files..." is the first collection of pastiches I have heard from this author. The writer can definitely evoke the era of Holmes & Watson remarkably well. One thing that stands out from so many other writers is that Gilbert appears to have gone to great lengths to emphasize Holmes' propensity to be rude and impatient, especially when dealing with the upper class or those not as quick-witted as he, Watson included.

Beyond this point, Gilbert presents some very complex and intriguing stories, more of which I would like to hear. These stories are excellently narrated by Simon de Denay. I am more than happy to recommend this audiobook.

An Excellent Collection of Stories!
