Publisher's summary

Horace the cat saves the day!

The perennially lazy and late Lord Devin is astonished when a petite virago called Wilhelmina accuses him of selling an unfit horse to a drayman. He isn't aware of the irregularities in his stables. Later, she foists a stray, starving kitten called Horace on him. But Hermione, his betrothed, hates cats. And Horace hates her....

Where will it all end? Will Horace have to go? Will Wilhelmina be able to save the ill-treated horses in London? Will everyone end up with the right partner?

This charming Regency story, set against the first Animal Rights Act of 1822, will warm your heart and make you smile. And Horace...well, you'll want to take him home.

A Charismatic Regency Story

I enjoyed this story a lot. I liked the characters. I was entertained by the cat's antics. I appreciated the descriptive phrases which brought to life Regency England, and the use of genuine history as it was set against the backdrop of the "First Animal Rights Act" of 1822. GL Robinson's narration was charming and kept my attention. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

Wonderful Regency Story

The Lord and the Cat's Meow is a new novel by G L Robinson who also gives a terrific performance as the narrator. I found this story to be interesting. Animal rights is just beginning in the late 1800s and I believe that the author has masterfully woven the treatment of horses with a sweet romance. I found the story interesting and the characters are well written and authentic. The Lord and the Cat's Meow is a pleasant way to spend the afternoon.

Interesting Regency romance

Very traditional in sense is all story with little “romance” of the sort so many Regencies seem to have anymore. Not a loss in my opinion. Sex is Not romance and the books I listened to where some sexual act seemed to be perpetrated into every chapter were actually boring before too long. I much prefer the Georgette Heyer style Regency with, hopefully, humor. This book has some humorous scenes and I appreciated Horace very much. Odd listening to the author read her book, but I enjoyed it.

Credit-worthy. Loved it.

This is a favorite for me. Very enjoyable. I had already read the print kindle version twice, but the day it appeared on Audible as a new release I bought it with one of my credits and listened to it that same day.

Very good

A crisp, well written, well narrated, and interesting story. No fluff or mental meanderings to fill pages here. Storyline moves along at an engaging pace. Subtle humor. Lord Devon is fabulous in his subtlety. I hope this author keeps writing more in this genre. The narrator does a surprisingly good job of reading her own work and capturing the tone.
