Publisher's Summary

A chance encounter. A plea for help. A detective too tired to care.

Brandon Beck hanged himself, or did he? Was it suicide or cold blooded murder?

On a cold dark night in February, Harry Starke runs into someone he hasn’t seen in almost 25 years.

The man has a problem. He asks Harry for help. Harry turns him down, and thus becomes the last person to see Brandon Beck alive.

Did Beck hang himself? Was he murdered? Either way, why? Harry Starke, now the prime suspect, vows to find out.

Harry's Genesis

Although this is Book 4 of the Genesis series, it's my first to read/listen. In the same vein as the original series, and with the same narrator, Harry's Genesis adventure is done with a "look back" approach. Told by the old, wiser Harry, you still get the action, suspense and twisty plot lines you've come to know and love. I got my copy from Audiobooks Unleashed.

Great

THE LOLITA CONSPIRACY
...Blair Howard
What a great beginning his team together and Harry’s. birthday, felt like we were joining them. Surprised them when Harry said he wanted, needed a vacation. After the Andrew Hawke case and his people, they were his friends got hurt, it hasn’t settled well for him. After the announcement things were sullen in the room and Harry left. Going to a favorite club, and nursing some scotch, a guy from college seen him Brandon Beck, wanted Harry for muscle on something, which has been a no for years. That too didn’t go well with him either. Then to awaken and Kate is all business, and Harry has to go in and give statement of his time after he left. Now Harry is back into an investigation with the head of Vice and DEA, includes more bodies, drugs, church. Fast action, a superb plot, that flows to the end, and Harry to take a vacation. The narration was great by Tom. Given audio for my voluntary review and my honest opinion

"Here we go again."

Harry wants a rest, a break from his PI business, and tells the others in his employ that he'll be taking a few days out. Then comes the news that an old school friend (in the losest form of that word), whom he met again the night before for the first time in many years, had been found hanger - believed a suicide. But Harry wasn't so sure: Brandon had asked him for help, wanted him a 'muscle', and had stormed out angrily when refused. So he couldn't help himself. Harry started to investigate ...

The Lolita Conspiracy is another excellent detective story in the Harry Starks series from Blair Howard, with engaging characters and fast action plot line, well narrated by Tom Lennon. My thanks to the rights holder who, at my request, freely gifted me with a complimentary copy via AU. This is book 4 in the series and they just keep getting better. Each one is also stand alone. Recommended.
