When it comes to divorce, forewarned is forearmed. This book delivers both in a story you won't be able to pause. Equal parts suspense thriller and how-to manual, Tim’s memoir is a must read for anyone who’s facing a divorce with children, or loves somebody who is. While most intuitively understand that divorce brings out the worst in people, and many have heard that separating can be extremely costly and frustrating, few approach the process aware of its greatest pitfalls, how truly terrible they are, and just how prevalent they’ve become.

Fresh, Unputdownable, Thrilling
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Yes! Fast paced and unpredictable
Have you listened to any of Dick Hill’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Dick Hill is fantastic! He always gives his full attention to all the recordings
Any additional comments?
The Lies of Spies is the latest book from talented espionage thriller writer Tim Tigner and the 2nd in his great Kyle Achilles series. The audiobook version was released in December and I am thrilled to tell you what I think about Mr. Tigner‘s newest page turner…
Following on the dramatic heels of Pushing Brilliance, The Lies of Spies pulls ex-CIA Special Operator Kyle Achilles behind the diplomatic curtain and into a cat and mouse game between the two most powerful men in the World. Kyle is a United States patriot, willing to do everything and anything to protect his people and his country… The Russians want Kyle’s head and will pull out all stops in order to see him dead. What’s even worst, Achilles has mysteriously lost part of his memory… What will he do? Who can he trust? When can he find the answers and what are the proper questions?
The story is very creative. If the bad guys win, the United States will suffer a setback that even the hated Osama Bin Laden couldn’t have dreamed of. Without giving away any of the plot, I can say that this is Tim Tigner’s best book yet, and I have read them all with relish! There are so many unpredictable turns and twists that I lost count of how many times I said to myself ‘óh no, this is crazy, what’s next?”…
The Lies of Spies delivers on all fronts! There are powerful presidents, spies, assassins, beautiful women, high tech weapons, chases around the world, gun fights, hand to hand combat that would put Jack Reacher to shame and lots of tense moments with unforeseeable outcomes… We travel from the United States to Russia to Switzerland and back again in a deadly game in which thousands of lives are at stake.
With a great, original and unpredictable story, written with passion, The Lies of Spies will not let you put it down until you finished the last word. If you are a Tim Tigner fan you’ll recognize some well loved, returning characters and you’ll be happy to meet a few new memorable faces, of which I’m sure that we’ll see more in the next books.
The audiobook is brought to life with great professionalism by award-winning narrator Dick Hill. Actually, Tim Tigner dedicated The Lies of Spies to the beloved voiceover actor and I’m one to cheer his decision to do so. Dick deserves it! We get very few audiobooks performed by Dick Hill now, as he is semi-retired and he can pick and choose the books he wants to record, so you can imagine how good Tim‘s thrillers are if Mr. Hill agrees to perform them.
Dick takes his time with each of the characters, he gives them voices, accents, life… He reads with passion, building momentum as dictated by the great plot until the action reaches new highs and everything is put in perspective. By the end of the adventure, around 14 hours have passed and although the plot is tied with a ribbon you’ll be left craving another literary treasure with the Tim Tigner trademark!
I was a big Lee Child fan, but now I’m an even bigger Tim Tigner addict! If you, like me, are not happy with the latest Jack Reacher books, please give Kyle Achilles a chance. I’m sure that you’ll find his adventures more thrilling and unputdownable!

Couldn't stop listening!
Where does The Lies of Spies rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Lies of Spies is a winner! Tigner weaves fascinating story lines together in unpredictable ways. That's what makes it stand out: originality, freshness, unpredictability.
What other book might you compare The Lies of Spies to and why?
I compare Tigner to Silva and Child. Great characters and interesting plots full of intrigue. Fresh and imaginative with lots of unexpected twists. Tigner's pacing is very fast, like Patterson but more original.
Have you listened to any of Dick Hill’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Dick Hill is always a masterful performer, and Lies of Spies is no exception.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes. Clients kept interrupting me, and I was always dying to get back to it. Finished this one in 2 days.
Any additional comments?
Can't wait for the next. I want more of these characters. I hope Tigner brings them all back!

Tigner keeps getting better!
If you could sum up The Lies of Spies in three words, what would they be?
I love Achilles!
From the first chapter of Pushing Brilliance I knew this series was destined to become big. The Lies Of Spies confirms that feeling.
The characters in Pushing Brilliance were fantastic, but if anything they're even better in The Lies Of Spies. I know we'll be seeing more of Katya and Achilles, but I want to see more of the others too. (Won't spoil anything by telling you who. This story keeps you guessing.)
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Lies of Spies?
Tigner puts big reveals in all his thrillers -- but it wouldn't be fair to talk about them here. And I particularly love the way he leaves things in the end, where he ties everything up in a bow while you're still breathless.
What about Dick Hill’s performance did you like?
As a Lee Child / Jack Reacher fan, I found Tigner through Dick Hill. He makes them feel the same, although I like Tigner's books more that Child's latest. Tigner reminds me of the way Child was before he hit it big.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I practically did. It's one of those books that keeps you up way past your bed time, and then you pick up again first thing in the morning.
Any additional comments?
I've enjoyed all Tigner's books, but I think these latest ones are his best. He's matured as a writer.

Brilliant espionage thriller!!
In The Lies of Spies Tim Tigner has written the most creative espionage thriller that I have ever read. And I have probably read or listened to every espionage thriller written in or translated to English during the last 40 years. This book is that outstanding. The Lies of Spies in the second novel in the Kyle Achilles series (there is also a prequel novella in the series). Dick Hill does this wonderful novel justice with his superb narration.
Ex-Green Beret Tim Tigner has also released three stand alone novels all of which are superb. The Lies of Spies firmly established Tigner in the top tier of espionage and suspense thriller authors. I wish I could award this novel more than 5 stars.

Moves slow, not very engaging
What disappointed you about The Lies of Spies?
Slow pace. Halfway through and never engaged.
What could Tim Tigner have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Better Plot.
Which character – as performed by Dick Hill – was your favorite?
Didn't really get to know any. Character development was tedious.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Lies of Spies?
The sex.

A Devious Plot and a Solid Frame!
We get our protagonist Kyle boxed into an elaborate, seemingly airtight frame, and the Russian President pulling all the strings. How in the world does one turn all of that into a great book to read? It takes Tim Tigner to figure all of this stuff out, and none other than Dick Hill to relate the story to us. 5 Stars!
Looking forward to many more like this!

Another excellent adventure
Move over Scott Harvath and Mitch Rapp because Kyle Achilles is in town. I stumbled upon this author recently and was very happy. Achilles is on par with Harvath and Rapp. There is so much action throughout the book that there's never a lull. Strongly recommend this (the second book in the series) as well as the first.

I am not lying get this book it's great
Wow, I really loved this book. I read the book a couple of years ago and at the time I added it to my audio book wish list and forgot about it. Then I wanted a fun book to listen to and downloaded this as I remembered I enjoyed it . Boy was I right and why oh why did it take me so long to get? I really like the characters and the situations they find themselves in. This is book two and carries on from Book one, you don't need to have read or listened to book one as the author does touch on what happened but I would highly recommend you do, as that is a great book too. There is so much action that it keeps you hooked from the start. The story is told from multiple characters but it is easy to follow along.
What happens when the presidents of two super power countries decided the other has to go? They send there best agents the ones that they can deny sending. But what happens when those presidents know they are coming? A cat and mouse game where nothing is really but all could be your last step. Retired CIA agent Kyle Achiles is one of the agents sent because after the Russian President had his family killed he has a big score to settle. This time going it alone with just help from Katya (his dead brothers finance) is not going to be enough and the pair join up with an unlikely pair to stop a diabolical plan that could change the world as we know it.
I like the narrator and he is up there in my top ten of favourite narrators because he makes all his stories interesting with the voices he uses for the characters.
