Publisher's Summary

Assistant, you are a leader.

As an assistant, you constantly face obstacles that hold you back from accomplishing your career goals. Whether it’s a job change, shifting deadlines, a micromanaging executive, a toxic coworker, a high-pressure project, or an intense negotiation with a vendor, the administrative profession is not for the faint of heart.

If you’re looking to maintain the status quo and be “just an assistant”, this audiobook is not for you. But, if you want the confidence and ability to conquer the challenges that most try to avoid, then you’re in the right place.

The Leader Assistant outlines four pillars - embody the characteristics, employ the tactics, engage in relationships, and exercise self-care - that will help you rediscover your passion for the profession and become a confident, future-proof, game-changing leader assistant. If you neglect even one pillar, you’ll head for burnout, stagnation, and anonymity. You are meant for so much more.

Are you ready to be the leader assistant the world needs?

Wonderful resource!

Thank you, Jeremy, for writing this book! It has been such a wonderful resource. I actually listened to the audiobook and followed along with my paperback copy. I got through my first read/listen in 2 or 3 days, and I’ve referred back to different sections multiple times. I especially loved the chapters on networking and burnout. I think this is a great resource for all assistants/executive assistants/chiefs of staff/etc. - no matter the years of experience.

We are leaders!

I loved The Leader's Assistant. Thank you, Jeremy Burrows, for empowering the leader within me!

I'm looking forward to listening to The Leader's Assistant podcast and possibly networking with other EA's.

Okay info, dreadful delivery, won’t need to pick back up later

First off, I wanted to love this book. It does have great reviews and it feels like there are very limited books specifically for EAs so yes, this is probably one of the better ones.

Sine there are limited EA book options, I’d definitely recommend for anyone new to the role or whose thinking of starting in this career.

That being said if you’ve an EA whose in the thick of it, this is now new info. This is stuff you should already be doing daily.

I owned the physical book for a while now and got the audio book to listen to on walks and finally finish the book. Buy the physical book and just read. The delivery is tough to get through. Or at least listen to the sample before going all in on the audio book.

Awesome Book! Highly Recommend!

Jeremy’s book, The Leader Assistant is a must-have for all administrative professionals. He shares his experience as an EA himself and offers lessons learned. I will be purchasing the hard copy to share with my Admin team.

Fantastic!!!

As an Ops Manager that runs the EA side of the job still, this is a FANTASTIC reminder for me! I really wish I had known about this book when I first started as an EA over 3 years ago!

Must read for all EA/AA

Being out of the profession for quite some time, this book gave me all the necessary tools to jump right in again.

Excellent resource for Executive Assistants

I just finish the audiobook for the third time! I always get something new every time I listen! A great read for long road trips. Chapter 16: Negotiation is what stuck with me this time around as it’s an area of personal growth that I’m working on. This is a great resource for Executive Assistants at all levels of experience.

So many helpful nuggets!

This was such a helpful book on how to be more effective, forward thinking, and influential as an Executive Assistant. I truly believe this book should be owned by every assistant and leader. Thank you Jeremy for this thoughtful resource - the physical copy of this book is highlighted, underlined, and flagged to within an inch of it’s life, might need a back up.
