'Okay' read and listen.

The title alone had me interested and dying to get lost in this world. It didn’t hurt that it packs a pretty cover and is in an EMP series. The writing isn’t bad, per se, but it could be stronger. This author seems to favor telling over showing so it makes for a very slow-paced read and manages to be dull at times, despite a fair amount of action and an exciting concept.

Overall it’s not for me, “It’s okay”. (Which translates to 2 stars on Audible and 3 on Goodreads & elsewhere.)

Audio:
The narrator has a great voice, but tended to sound robot-like, rather than choosing to perform the book so not great. 2 stars here.
