Great Western that keeps your attention

I was taken back in time, able to picture the old west with the wildness and rawness of how it used to be. The story kept my interest throughout and the narration was the perfect fit. I'll be looking into more from this author. Thank you, this audible book gave me a distraction from real life difficulties.

Book kept me interested!

I really enjoyed the book from beginning to end. There were a lot of interwoven stories and it all came together. This is really just Another Western but I thought it was well done interesting characters and the story kept you wondering what next? I loved the narrator , he sounds like a guy that would be riding on the back of a horse.

simply could not finish this horrible book

What was most disappointing about William Johnstone’s story?

I thought I'd try this book because some reviewers compared the author to Louis L'amour, and one of my guilty pleasures is to sit down with one of those old good guy, bad guy western novels and get away from reality. But no L'amour book that I ever read was ever even close to being this bad. I understand that this is just a "western" novel, but you like to see a little attention to detail, minimizing historical inaccuracies and containing a minimum of just plain silliness and implausibility. But you won’t get that here. The characters, the situations, are annoying and just plain just horrible. One of the few books I have had that I simply could not finish.

How could the performance have been better?

I had no problem with the performance just the content of the book.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

annoyance
