About this listen

Sam Capra must commit an impossible assassination - or he will lose the only person in the world who matters to him....

Sam Capra has one reason to live: to rescue his baby son from the people who abducted him. An ex-CIA agent, Sam now owns bars around the world as cover for his real mission - working undercover for a secret network as mysterious as it is powerful, while using his skills to find his child.

Now the kidnappers have offered a deadly deal: they'll surrender Sam's child...if Sam finds and murders the one man who can expose them. Teaming up with a desperate young mother whose daughter is also missing, Sam tracks his prey - and his son - across the country in a dangerous race against time, and must unravel a deadly conspiracy if he's to rescue the only person in the world that matters to him.

Great 2nd book in the Sam Capra series. I loved it!!! The action scenes are so explicit, so well written. I can actually picture in my mind everything that I’m reading. The continuance of the story is so smoothly done... it’s like the first book didn’t finish and I just kept on reading. I am in love with Sam Capra and with Kevin Collins for bringing him to life! On to book #3.

LOVED IT!

It is so thrilling that I found myself sitting in my car in the garage, after my long commute, listening to the next chapter! I am not a Jeff Abbott fan.

Fast paced and exciting

This book captured me from page 1right to the end. Kevin T. Collins did an extraordinary job with his narrative, complimenting all the suspense so well described by Jeff Abbott

Grabbing

I honestly stopped listening to this book about three or four times. The words "I have to get back my son!" started to grate on me during the first couple of chapters. However, I gave it another chance and kept listening. Once I made it over the hump (about an hour or two in) it really picked up and became quite exciting. Mr. Collins, really disappears into each character whether it is Sam (clearly American with no discernible accent) or Milla (a woman from Moldova). I would sometimes forget it was the same person doing both voices.

It was suspenseful at times, witty and funny in odd moments. The story was predictable at times, but there are only a few options of how things can resolve in any thriller, so perhaps "predictability" is always a possibility depending how you are guessing at the next progression of the story. Overall, I am glad I purchased it and powered through some of the earlier moments that just became repetitive and didn't quite gel.

From the middle of the book on, I really did find myself excited about the next time I would be able to sneak some time in to have a listen.

Took a while to get into this one...but worth it.

I don’t usually write a review but thought I would this time. I loved the story but what ruined it for me was the narration. He he a great reader but far too dramatic. There where times where I was ready to stop listening due to the drama. I love the story, the characters but please dial back the drama.

Way too dramatic

Good story and characters. Robotic narration with zero intonation - just really, really bad. Hopefully there's someone else for the next book.

Horrible narration

If you could sum up The Last Minute in three words, what would they be?

Fantastically entertaining listen.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes. The author doesn't let up on the action or suspense.

Which character – as performed by Kevin T. Collins – was your favorite?

Sam Capra. He is Sam Capra.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes.

Any additional comments?

If you want an entertaining good book to listen to, this is it!

Thrill a Minute

Loved everything about this book. The suspense and intrigue was stellar. Listened to the audio version and the production and performance was top notch!!

AMAZING ADVENTURE

...narrator is not at fault. Most of this espionage thriller is written in the first person with part is a woman talking and part is a man talking. A female and male narrator should have been used because this narrator could not simulate a female voice.

The novel itself is a very good espionage thriller. It is sad that the single narrator ruined the audiobook.

Good thriller ruined by narration, but the...

Jeff Abbott this series has taken me on a nice ride. The book kept my interest from beginning to end. I love the characters especially Mila. Leonie I think is crazy. This is the 2nd book in the series, can't wait to hear the others. The book kept my attention and was action packed to the last page. The narrator Kevin Collins did a very good job. I do not have an audio with him as narrator and he really impressed me.

I needed a new author to read and came upon
