Publisher's summary

Before you die,
Live the life
You were born
To live.

When you come to the end of your days, you will not measure your life based on success and failures. All of those will eventually blur together into a single memory called "life".

What will give you solace is a life with nothing left undone. One that's been lived with relentless ambition, a heart on fire, and with no regrets.

On the other hand, what will haunt you until your final breath is who you could have been but never became and what you could have done but never did.

The Last Arrow is your road map to a life that defies odds and alters destinies. Discover the attributes of those who break the gravitational pull of mediocrity as cultural pioneer and thought leader Erwin McManus examines the characteristics of individuals who risked everything for a life they could only imagine. Imagine living the life you were convinced was only a dream.

We all begin this life with a quiver full of arrows.

Now the choice is yours. Will you cling to your arrows or risk them all, opting to live until you have nothing left to give?

Time is short. Pick up The Last Arrow and begin the greatest quest of your life.

Critic reviews

"I have never interacted with Erwin where he did not move me and capture my heart. His call in this book is one more example. He wakes us up where we need it, and pushes us past lack of clarity and through the unavoidable fear of truly spending our lives well. Thanks once again, my friend!" (Dr. Henry Cloud, psychologist and author)

A good slogan stretched into a book....

The title of the book is quite inspiring. "The Last Arrow - save nothing for the next life" great advice. You and I should give our all to this life.

However I couldn't get through this one because the author's voice/tone sounds like he is on the verge of a nervous breakdown or about to burst into tears at every sentence. Oh and he is pretty vague about how one should go about using all our "arrows" other than the fact that we should definitely use them (somehow).

I might be selling the book and the author short because it has loads of ecstatic reviews but for an audio book my first criterion is that it be at least listenable.

This one wasn't. AT ALL.

Will be returning.

6-hr sermon

If you are hip to the Bible, this is probably a pretty good addition. Neither the sample audio nor the description would lead one to believe that you are signing up for a Bible study. Based on the sample audio, I thought it was going to be a book about overcoming obstacles, perhaps a success story born of poverty and odd upbringing, a despite-the-odds book. Feel like I wasted a precious credit on a book I cannot force myself to finish.

Symbols, Interpretations did not always ring true

I did not know anything about Erwin McManus and appreciated hearing his story. It is obvious that he lived a faithful life filled with passion and focus. His message of living your passion every day in every way, and never giving up is reiterated throughout the book through his life stories and those from the bible. Some of the symbols and story interpreations did not resonate with me, but I was able to understand the point he was trying to make and therefore took a few nuggets away from what I listened to. This is not a deep book with any "how to's". It is a dying man's wisdom given to the world his loves.

The Last Arrow

From the start I was captured by the author. I was not familiar with him but am certain I will search out his other works. I have been challenged to do what is in me to do. My walk with Jesus has been challenging. Not for lack of love for my Savior but through so many relationships that have been skeptical and lacking courage to strike arrows. I am excited and encouraged to open myself up and pour out the gifts deposited in me for the sake of Gods kingdom. I WILL strike and strike and strike and strike and strike till I am spent and the enemy is silenced in what matters most to me. Thank you Erwin Raphael McManus. Thank you. May the healing purchased for you at the cross be made manifest in your body. Thank you again.
