Publisher's summary

I've lost all hope for love, and my reputation precedes me. But he is desperate for a wife. Is this just an unlikely alliance, or will an arranged marriage with Laird MacCollough change the course of my life?

Elayne MacNally’s reputation as the willful harpy of the Highlands precedes her.

A silver-eyed beauty born to a powerful laird, she’s accustomed to getting everything she wants, no matter what. When the man she plans to marry rejects her, her father intervenes and forces her to chart a new course in life. But can she find happiness and her heart’s desire on this new path?

Handsome and powerful Declan MacCollough has no desire to follow in his father’s footsteps as the Laird of the ill-reputed “Beast Clan”. After his father’s untimely death, he knows he must reclaim the respect his clan has lost and establish his presence. But first, he must find a wife strong enough to face the challenges he knows are coming. Will this willful yet strikingly beautiful woman claim his clan and his heart?

Elayne is the perfect companion for Declan’s plan. When they agree to marry, the rules are simple. What’s not so simple is the obstacles they encounter or the fact that their desire for each other grows by the minute. Thrown together by circumstance, they surprise each other by finding a once-in-a-lifetime love.

While many of the MacColloughs and even her own family mistrust Elayne, Declan doesn't care that she has a reputation or is disliked by nearly everyone she meets. His passion for Elayne is undeniable, something that surprises Elayne to the depths of her soul. Naysayers do everything within their power to thwart the couple. However, the more challenging their desperate quest, the more they learn to rely on each other.

Life together seems to fall into place, until vengeance rears its ugly head and threatens everything they've built. Faced with countless threats and devious plots to keep them from establishing their clan and their newfound love, will their unlikely passionate bond prove strong enough?

Disappointed!

First horrible horrible performance. If there is something less than no stars I would give it.
The writer obviously did not read about Scottish history or customs. The hero and heroine jumps into bed to ensure they would marry. They could have simply declare they are married as Scottish law recognized marriage by declaration or they could have hand fasted.
The story is ok if you can bear to stick it through.
An utter waste of credit!!
