Acerca de esta escucha
Shahar and the godling Sieh must face off against the terrible magic threatening to consume their world in the incredible conclusion to the Inheritance Trilogy, from Hugo award-winning and New York Times bestselling author N. K. Jemisin.
For two thousand years the Arameri family has ruled the world by enslaving the very gods that created mortalkind. Now the gods are free, and the Arameri's ruthless grip is slipping. Yet they are all that stands between peace and world-spanning, unending war.
Shahar, last scion of the family, must choose her loyalties. She yearns to trust Sieh, the godling she loves. Yet her duty as Arameri heir is to uphold the family's interests, even if that means using and destroying everyone she cares for.
As long-suppressed rage and terrible new magics consume the world, the Maelstrom—which even gods fear—is summoned forth. Shahar and Sieh: mortal and god, lovers and enemies. Can they stand together against the chaos that threatens?
Includes a never before seen story set in the world of the Inheritance Trilogy.

This is the way the world ends...for the last time. It starts with the great red rift across the heart of the world's sole continent, spewing ash that blots out the sun. Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

In the holy city of Tova, the winter solstice is usually a time for celebration and renewal, but this year it coincides with a solar eclipse, a rare celestial even proscribed by the Sun Priest as an unbalancing of the world. Meanwhile, a ship launches from a distant city bound for Tova and set to arrive on the solstice. The captain of the ship, Xiala, is a disgraced Teek whose song can calm the waters around her as easily as it can warp a man’s mind. Her ship carries one passenger.

God is change. That is the central truth of the Earthseed movement, whose unlikely prophet is 18-year-old Lauren Olamina. The young woman's diary entries tell the story of her life amid a violent 21st-century hell of walled neighborhoods and drug-crazed pyromaniacs - and reveal her evolving Earthseed philosophy. Against a backdrop of horror emerges a message of hope: if we are willing to embrace divine change, we will survive to fulfill our destiny among the stars.

Riveting
I found this book to be confusing at times and riveting at other times. Great read!

Excellent and unique trilogy
At each end of each book I had thought I knew where this was going, yet each time I found myself pleasantly surprised. Jemisin., as always, writes beautiful and complex characters and relationships and seamlessly weaves them into incredible worlds.

Great story, Rushed end
Honestly, I loved pretty much all of it, however, I wish the end was fleshed out more. while yes, everything was wrapped up, it boiled down to, im out of time so they all lived happily ever after. Ironically speaking considered that's mentioned during the beginning of one of the later chapters. It just felt like that's couple chapters had so much to give, then all of a sudden it was just over.

Great story, frustrating narration
This was an enjoyable end to a phenomenal series. It kept me engaged throughout, and I found myself caring for many of the characters and rejoicing in their growth.
The one component of this final book that remained a consistent source of annoyance for me was the narration. The pronunciation of many of the names (mainly Yeine, Enefa, Enefada, Kurue, and Viraine, among others) was so dramatically different from the first two books that it became an ongoing source of distraction, so much so that I had to go back to the cover art within Audible to verify that that the same voice actor had narrated all three. I’m not sure why the change occurred, but that lack of continuity soured my listening experience.

Good listen.
This is a solid book but the weakest of the author 's works in my opinion. Only because all her other works are so great.

Awesome world
The world that N K creates in her books is just amazing. The trickster truly grew on me in this book. He is my favorite character in this series. For a Godling he truly went through many different emotions like a human in this book. Loved it, even though the ending had me a bit emotional.

Love
I can't think of another author who so perfectly defines what love is. Whether romantic, familial or friendship, she nails it every time. She writes Characters so complex and actualized that you fall in love with them without realizing it. I was so attached to the characters that towards the end of their respective books I was filled with uneasiness and worry. I wanted so badly for that typical happy ending or for their success. But, what the author comes up with is far more moving and superior to anything I could have hoped for.
