Publisher's summary

In the vein of Natural Born Killers and The Devil’s Rejects, Bryan Smith’s The Killing Kind is the tale of a wild and uninhibited mass killer named Roxie.

Rob Scott finds himself helplessly drawn into the tattooed and insanely sexy goth girl’s world of blood and mayhem. As Roxie and Rob cut a bloody trail across the country, a group of college students arrive at a beach house in Myrtle Beach for spring break. The young friends are blissfully unaware of the danger bearing down on them as they enjoy the sun and surf. Because Roxie and Rob are on their way to the beach as well....

Named one of Brian Keen's top 10 books for 2010.

Bonus content: This audio edition of The Killing Kind includes three chapters from The Killing Kind 2. This is raw material that may or may not actually appear in the final version of the still in-progress sequel. Buy now for an early peek at what happens next for the survivors in The Killing Kind.

Critic reviews

"Critics have hailed various authors as “the heir to Richard Laymon”. But for my money, Bryan Smith is the heir apparent. He proved it with 2009’s Depraved and solidifies it with 2010’s The Killing Kind, a wonderfully macabre and twisted pulp-ride about spree killers.” (Brian Keene, author of The Rising and Ghoul)

Kill fest

This book is definitely gruesome, depraved, and gory. It certainly is a kill fest. There's more than one story line going on until everything merges closer to the end. There are also several characters who start out "good" and are slowly taken over to the dark side. Some of the characters got what they deserved however some didn't. One in particular, who was most guilty, got away without a care in the world.

A Bonnie and Clyde style ride of darkness and sexuality

Normally I like my horror of the paranormal, supernatural, alien, type style. Not normally a big fan of the darkness of man as it sticks too close to reality. This is a dark sexual tale of murder and the darkness in the hearts and minds of men and woman and it’s scary how easy people can walk Down this path. Don’t listen to this one with kids around and look twice around when you are gassing up your vehicle. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator or publisher
