Delightful

A truly delightful story that leaves one feeling encouraged by the kindness and generosity of the main character. Beautifully narrated I really loved everything about this book.

Just a Good and Kind Story

I loved that this book had plenty of story lines that all come together. There is drama and things that happen in life but nothing too crazy. It is nice just to have a story that has good people who do good things.

Saccharin sweet story

I agree that it was a sweet story. But there was too much sweetness to make it an interesting story for me. It unfolded just as I expected leaving no drama, climax. Not my cup of tea!

Heartwarming and fun

The twins are hilarious and had this reader in giggles throughout the entire work. ("She ate her face off," was a favorite line.) This novel, The Irish Boarding House, is full of charming scenes as well as poignant, heartwarming ones. I honestly did not know what to expect with this storyline and I was so thrilled to have opted for the audio version. The accents and the dialogue of the era absolutely make the tale so enjoyable. Reading the printed word wouldn't have been as much fun. I may go broke purchasing these audiobooks, but I must hear those voices. I was so influenced by the tea time and apple cake routine that I purchased apples to make an apple cake to have with my own tea time. The narrator's work is outstanding. I am off to download book 2 of this series.

Excellent performance of lovely story

A refreshing tale of kindness, forgiveness and love with delightful Irish humor. Nice to have a happy ending for a change.

Definitely a ladies book. Maybe there could have been some male dissension in the story.
