Publisher's Summary

The Inner Circle: Booktrack Edition adds an immersive musical soundtrack to your audiobook listening experience!*

There are stories no one knows. Hidden stories. I love those stories. And since I work in the National Archives, I find those stories for a living.

Beecher White, a young archivist, spends his days working with the most important documents of the US government. He has always been the keeper of other people's stories, never a part of the story himself....

Until now.

When Clementine Kaye, Beecher's first childhood crush, shows up at the National Archives asking for his help tracking down her long-lost father, Beecher tries to impress her by showing her the secret vault where the President of the United States privately reviews classified documents. After they accidentally happen upon a priceless artifact - a 200-year-old dictionary that once belonged to George Washington, hidden underneath a desk chair, Beecher and Clementine find themselves suddenly entangled in a web of deception, conspiracy, and murder.

Soon a man is dead, and Beecher is on the run as he races to learn the truth behind this mysterious national treasure. His search will lead him to discover a coded and ingenious puzzle that conceals a disturbing secret from the founding of our nation. It is a secret, Beecher soon discovers, that some believe is worth killing for.

Gripping, fast-paced, and filled with the fascinating historical detail for which he is famous, The Inner Circle is a thrilling novel that showcases a brilliant author writing at the height of his craft.

*Booktrack is an immersive format that pairs traditional audiobook narration to complementary music. The tempo and rhythm of the score are in perfect harmony with the action and characters throughout the audiobook. Gently playing in the background, the music never overpowers or distracts from the narration, so listeners can enjoy every minute. When you purchase this Booktrack edition, you receive the exact narration as the traditional audiobook available, with the addition of music throughout.

Please just tell the story.

I got to Chapter two, and deleted the book. The background music, if you can call it that, is annoying and the juvenile sound effects to not make listening any better. Scott Brick is an excellent narrator. He doesn't need the props. This was my first Brad Meltzer book, which is too bad because I'll never know if the guy can write a story worth listening to.

Great story

A little bit unbelievable in places, and I got irritated with what some of the characters did at times, but enjoyable in the end. Scott Brick is excellent

What's with all the background noise

The background noise was so distracting. Once when I was driving I thought people were honking at me. I just hated the background music. I didn't buy a music CD I purchased a book. It was so distracting and made it very difficult to concentrate on the story. I finally gave up. Couldn't finish the book.

Music distracts book that has music background again

The story line was very good but the music was horribly distracting. I thought I would get used to it but it never stopped annoying me. I will never listen to another audio with a music background again

Inner Circle

The story pulls you in from the beginning and doesn't let you go until the end. The use of historical facts and places adds to the whole experience.

tedious

I found the plot to be convoluted and tedious to listen to. The background ambience was distracting and annoying. Never was able to completely get into the storyline.

Annoying background soundtrack

Sorry but I wasn’t looking for a multimedia experience. Just interested in the book but the music got in the way.

Story had highs and lows.

The story was good but there was places that dragged! Wish there were a few more answers at the end to tie things up.

Disappointing.

Story and narration are overly dramatic causing numerous eye rolls. Might be better on the printed page. Background music was distracting.

Amazing

How anyone could write anything so boating silly and completely asinine is beyond words
A complete waste of time
