Compelling and Exciting War Novel with Female Lead

This is a great book! I enjoyed following the main female character through her dangerous mission during the war. Her situation feels much like Peggy Carter. A female in the midst of the war effort, trying to gain the respect of the men. The narrator is easy to listen to and does a fantastic job with different character voices. Really enjoyed listening to this book.

A fabulous story of WWII intrigue, suspense and bravery, grounded in unbelievably narrated human emotions and relationships.

This was my first exposure to the Monika Ritter series, and what an amazing first experience it was. The author did a superb job moving the story’s perspective from character to character, giving enough background information to allow one to understand the story, even if just jumping in with this one, and typing up enough loose ends at the end that the reader felt satisfied while still wanting to know what happens next.
The narration was stunning. Issy Arnett’s ability to differentiate between characters, genders, and nationalities was remarkably impressive, and her nuanced delivery allowed the listener to become fully immersed in the story. I will be following other narrations by her in the future. A great experience all around.

I enjoyed this book SO much. Such an enjoyable series by Eoin Dempsey. I love the bite sized TV series vibe of it. Narrator Issy Arnett absolutely knocked this out of the park. I hope to hear more of her in the sequels!

Incredible Storytelling

What an immersive return to World War II, with spies, bombers, danger, and the struggle to free Germany from Nazi control. The characters were complex and the storyline intense. All of this excitement and action was brilliantly delivered by the narrator, Issy Arnett, who created believable characters and provided nonstop tension throughout the novel. Ms. Arnett’s pacing kept readers fully engaged from beginning to end, and her ability to flawlessly narrate both genders and so many accents is exemplary.
