Excellent audiobook, again
I've really enjoyed this whole series. No, these aren't books that require much thought. The plots are fairly formulaic, and the characters stereotypical, but despite all that, they are still just plain rollicking good fun. The dialogue is witty and the action is engaging. The men are alpha males to put it kindly (male chauvinist pigs if you're not so kind), but they ooze sex appeal. The steamy scenes are brilliant, although I'm not so sure that is Ms Moning's doing or that of the wonderful narrator, Phil Gigante. I've listened to several audio books where the sex scenes that sound ridiculous to the point of laughter, but never that from Mr. Gigante. His scenes sound just as they should, serious and steamy. He's fairly criticized for not doing justice to the female voices, but I didn't find that distracting, and he more than makes up for it with his wonderful sexy male characters. This particular story has a good plot, bringing a "bad guy" from previous books and making him shine as the hero in this one. There's a nice twist to his lady love that is interesting and fresh. All in all, a nice addition to a great series.

Hot!
I listen to this to fall asleep at night. No, don't misunderstand. It isn't boring. It's sexy and soothing simultaneously. Phil Gigante could read the dictionary and I would listen. Has he done that yet? Is it on Audible? Oh, but the review-right. This book is my favorite in KMM's sexy Highlander series. Finally a book about Adam Black, the mischeivous meddler who thinks he's "all that". He is. In this story his immortal self is humbled, abandoned and made -worst of all- human! What's a fallen god to do? How about stalk and pester the female lead- the only being who seems to be aware of his existence? The characters meet and grow together out of attraction and circumstance; their interactions and dialogue are intense & sensual, erotic at times. I'd label this "romantica". Not for the timid listener... or if you're a little timid, wear your headphones. It works for me.

OMG!
What this narrator does to Adam Black's voice should come with a warning! I about went up in flames when Adam had his first conversation with Gabrielle! The storyline had lots of humor and the characters were likable enough. But it's the voice and the accent portrayed by Phil Gigante that really did it for me. He makes you want to gobble Adam up in hot, greedy bites. LOVED IT!

Best of the Series
Adam Black is a very good main character. The heroine, though somewhat week, is pretty decent and there is enough humor to see you through.
I think that the narrator finally figured out female voices and Gabby didn't sound nearly as hysterical as some of the previous female characters and he has an excellent voice for the narrator's role. It seemed like some of the characters' accents weakend as the story progressed, but I've also read the book and it's actually the writing that changes the Scots burr for example, it's not written with that much of an accent. I was very happy that Adam had a better voice than in earlier books.
Although, this series is very formulaic -- girl meets guy, guy needs girl to solve a problem, girl & guy fall in love, guy killed/taken away, girl & guy get back together, girl ends up pregnant, this book did it better than the rest of them and the epilogue was a nice touch.
If you like the series, you won't be disappointed in this one.

Wow!! The Blackest Elf was the Biggest SURPRISE!
What did you love best about The Immortal Highlander?
I loved that K.M.M was able to take a character that at times within the other novels you hated, and make him someone that you not only rooted for, but respected, and loved.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Immortal Highlander?
Probably the most memorable moment for me was when Gabrielle was packing to leave her house, running from Adam, and he burst in the back door and pinned her to the door! I loved his arrogance, and the fact that it never occured to him that she wouldn't want him. The quote about her wanting bondage, or a spanking was one of my all time faves from any book EVER.
Which character – as performed by Phil Gigante – was your favorite?
Adam, for sure!
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
"A love worth dying for."
Any additional comments?
This book completely took me by surprise! I wasn't looking forward to reading about Adam, but he is now a favorite of mine in the series. NO! My favorite. He was deliciously funny, sexy, and just made me want to keep him for myself.

This could be the best of the highlander series!
Our hero Adam is not always portrayed as a good guy, but this book reveals him to be much more than a "dark" character. The story, like all the books in this series, is not only interesting but has an unexpected twist at the end. The narrator is outstanding. Between his narration and the story line, the reader gets caught up in the story quickly and stays that way until the last word is read.

I AM SO IN LOVE ADAM NOW!
Wow! I loved this book! It was a treat to have Adam, a fairy, as the main character instead of a highlander. Even though Adam was an evil troll in some of the previous books, you will fall head over hills in love with him during this book. The book was perfect from start to finish!
Before listening to this audio, you should at least start at book 3. You won't understand the whole storyline, unless you listen to book 3, 4 & 5.
After this book, if you plan to go on to book 7, I would advise against it. I was so entranced with this book, that I had to immediately start listening to the next. What a disappointment! Just embrace your fantasies of Adam, and be content to end this series there.
