Publisher's Summary

In postwar Chicago, a humble ice delivery man discovers that his son was struck by an unremorseful drunk driver. Despite the challenges of a police cover-up and the celebrity status of the culprit, he refuses to be denied justice. The Iceman will stop at nothing, even if that means going toe-to-toe with the heavyweight champion of the world.

Can't wait to see THE ICEMAN on the big screen!

This thing honestly deserves more than 5 stars. I'm not trying to take anything at all away from this very impressive author, because this story blew me away, but I must start with Mr. Bray.

R.C. Bray WILL without a doubt win some awards with this performance. The accents, the swaps between men, women, and children. I've never heard Bray narrate with this kind of raw emotion. The intense parts of this story that grabbed your heart, R.C. sounded like those parts grabbed his heart as well. When you felt tears building up in your eyes, he sounded like he was holding his back as he read. He really was so connected to these characters. This is so different from anything I have ever heard from him, but you can tell he enjoyed himself. If you are on the fence like I was because this is outside of the sci-fi genre, Give this story a go. It was only 6 hours, but I spent the entire 6 hours on the edge of my seat. Around Chapter 3, you won't be able to stop listening. I was pulling up to jobs and sitting in the truck 10 minutes to finish off scenes because I was so hooked.

I guess this story is a drama, and I don't usually enjoy drama. If I had to compare it to something, I'd say it has little bits and pieces of Rocky, with a little bit of A Bronx Tale, but it's so much more than a boxing story or a Mob story. I know they say don't judge a book by it's cover, but I honestly only gave it a shot because of the cool cover art... and obviously because I listen to everything R.C. Bray touches. but I'm happy I gave The Iceman a shot. I don't know that there is room for a sequel, but if Masse and Bray do anything else together, I will be jumping on it regardless of the genre.

I'm a Bray-loving trucker that has come to really love audible and this story really broadened my horizon. I usually do zombies, werewolves, aliens, sci fi + fantasy, fantasy , or horror, but I must say, I'll be adding drama to my list after this one. I'm a big, bearded, tatooed biker and I sh** you not, I was crying like a baby .. more than once. The ending of this story will leave you staring into the sky, covered in goosebumps, with tears soaking your beard.

give the Iceman a shot. You're welcome

Beautiful

I almost never give five stars and this book is not near my genre. But this story was beautiful and kept my total interest. They got the very best narrator. I will definitely look for more stories from this writer.

R C Bray brings this story to life

This was a good story on its own but R. C. Bray brings it to life. The character voices were unique and paced exactly has they should be. It was
a treat to listen to and a change from what I usually get in audio books. I have been so put off by reviews that rave only to find I can barely get through the book or don’t even make it through them. So glad I got this one. Oh know, the hunt begins again for my next book.

For the underdog

Another brilliant book read by R.C. Bray who makes it come alive.
This is one for the underdog - the guy who has it tough on all fronts but never gives up - you can do it. This books resonates that message.
emotional storyline, good characters and depth of story that rings true with everyone who would ever be in the situation the main character is in.
Great book.

Better than I expected

I wasn't sure what to expect from this book but I got so much more for my credit than I expected. The time period it was set in, the characters portrayed, the descriptions and depth given to this was wonderful. It's on my list to relisten to.
