A fun read.

Great storyline for a trilogy. There was enough of a hook at the end of each book, I'm glad I got the box set. Vampires, witches, and prophesies, with a love story on top? Yes, please. it was a little weird at first to have a male narrator for a female main character, but he did a great job, and his voice reminded me of Kevin Pierce, who is a favorite among the voice actors I like. All-in-all, new author, new narrator, and its a yes from me.

great story

Great story.... awful narration.
When asking a question your voice should go up. At the end of a sentence your voice should go down.
There was no distinction between the characters by the narrator. So kind of hard to follow Sometimes.

Love the storyline

I absolutely loved the storyline of this trilogy! I would however, recommend reading this book over listening to it. It's definitely worth the time to read, and the story has you engaged emperor keep reading until the end. Quite a few things are revealed in the final book, and makes things come together. The ending is truly outstanding. The narrative unfortunately is not well matched for this story, and you cannot tell on the characters changed or even changed emotions.

Loved this story

I really liked this story, but I didn't like the narrator. He was a good narrator, just not for this story. The main character was a young girl and he couldn't change his voice enough for me to differentiate between the characters. However, the storyline made up for it! It would have been a 5 star book if it had a different narrator.

Bad choice for narrator!

The entire book is told first person, from the point of view of a 19 year old young lady. A naive, yet fairly well read, and into comic books and video games sexually inexperienced barely adult young woman. The writing is contemporary and stream of her thoughts.

I gave up on the audiobook and went to the kindle version about halfway through the second book. I just couldn't stand listening to a big beefy man voice as her inner voice. It's just so so bad. Just imagine Darth Vader talking about his lady parts and how is squicks him out to wear his dead grandmother's clothes. It's just too distracting.

Don't get me wrong, Charlie Boswell is a very competent narrator with a good voice. He's clear, easy to understand, and his pronunciations are prep-school middle American English. I'd be happy to listen to him read a male first person or third person story that wasn't so much from a female point of view.

Now, for the story. The story isn't as advertised in the description, but it is good. A nineteen year old finds out she has inherited her grandmother's estate, but she has to live there for 6 months. Then, when she gets there, she finds out she needs to have a baby with a vampire; this baby is supposed to bring back magic. They vie for her attention, but she rules them out one by one. There are complications, there is a group that want's to stop her. She discovers her own magic and explores what she wants in a mate. She makes friends and learns about her own past.

So, glad I read the three books (the trilogy). They're good beach reads. Thea audiobook . . . well, it just spoils the story. Sad, because I would have loved to listen to a female voice reading this, it would have been so enjoyable.

Disappointed

Besides the awful choice of narrator, the books was a lot of build up for such a lackluster ending. In gaming terms the entire final book was the MC doing side quests instead of the main quest.
This is not a romance. There was no romance in it besides a couple kissing scenes.
There were so many side characters and I didn’t care about any of them.
It wasn’t at all what I was expecting and I’m super disappointed I wasted a credit on this.

I have not finished and not sure I will.

Can’t stand having a male narrator for a female character!!! It’s truly horrible! I can’t even exchange the book!

great story and good value.

Books 1-3 in one package. Good story and characters that need to be heard/read in order.

A complete story with a start and finish but good to know there are 4 others in series. Already downloaded book 4 to Kindle.

Charlie Boswell is an easy listen and keeps the story alive.
