Publisher's summary

From the best-selling author of the Stolen Bride Series comes a brand new and exciting family saga! For fans of Scottish historical romance, the Sutherland Legacy propels you into the Highlands with tales of daring adventure, irresistible heroes, and passion!

Lady Blair Sutherland has always followed the rules. As the youngest of five, she's spent years observing her older siblings misbehaving - but even more importantly, she's learned a lot about smoothing over disputes. On a playful dare with her cousins, Blair writes a fictitious note and puts it in a bottle, but at the last minute, refuses to follow through and toss it out to sea. As the months pass, she forgets about what she's written until a warrior lays siege to her clan's castle - in her name - claiming her brother is a murderer. For a lass who's never been in trouble - her world is about to turn itself inside out.

Laird Edan Rose has been looking for a way to prove himself to his clan after the murder of his older brother. When he was a lad, his father sent him to foster with Robert the Bruce, but never asked him to return home. Gone all these years serving his king, he has to make his mark and show his clan he has what it takes to lead by finding his brother's killer. When the answer to his troubles arrives as a message in a bottle, he wastes no time in taking action. Though he hopes the man responsible for his clan's pain will surrender, Edan is not afraid to wage war. If he has to, he'll lay siege to the castle, rescue the lass, and take out his enemies to gain the respect he seeks.

When a Highlander rides on her brother's castle, Blair knows the blame lies at her feet. If the only way to clear the family name is by giving herself up to a stranger and helping him find the true assassin - certainly not her brother - then so be it. But once she's in Edan's arms, the only thing on her mind is wondering whether his kiss is as powerful as his embrace. And as for Edan, he's now just as determined to prove himself worthy of Blair's heart as he was to show his worth to his clan. The one who wanted Edan's brother dead puts an end to their newfound passion, however, when he decides the two of them are an even loftier prize.

good narrator, meh story

After reading all of the other books in the series, this one felt rushed. There should definitely have been an epilogue, because it was not a happy ending. what happened with the rest of the clan? did things get better? was Blair treated better? Did her family ever find out all that happened? It just felt so unfinished, like the author was bored of writing this series and ready to move on. The narrator was good.

Creative and Unpredictable

I enjoyed the creativity and plot surprises from start to finish. The story really kept me guessing up to the last few chapters.

Narrator needs work

I listened to the whole series hoping Antony would get better but alas he did not. He seemed to do the male characters fairly well but the female characterizations just come out flat. This was especially blatant during tender moments. The words were right but the tenderness that the words should have portrayed was lost. Antony if you are going to do the parts of both male and female listen to your own readings and do some self improvement.

The Highlander's Enchantment

Antony Ferguson has long been one of my favorite narrators. His talent brings the story to life and makes you feel like you're immersed in the troubles & mysteries that plague the characters. Eliza Knight always writes the kind of books you never want to put down, and never want them to end. This series has it all, the mysteries, the emotions of more than just the main characters, and the family interconnections within each story. I'd say this is a do not miss 5 Star book for the audiobook for the author and 5 Stars for the performance/narration by the talented Antony Ferguson.

Another good read…

in the Sutherland family series. In my opinion, the sizzle between Edan and Blair wasn’t as strong as it was between the couples in previous books but still good. Also there should have been a longer period for Blair to come out of her “good girl “ shell, the transition was too abrupt. Edan’s response to some of his clan’s abuse of Blair should have been stronger. And the murderer of his brother and others should have been burned despite Blair’s wish for mercy. If this is truly the last book in the series there should have been an epilogue. With that said, I enjoyed the series and recommend.
