Publisher's Summary

Highland warrior Blane Sutherland has one mission: disguise himself as an Englishman, cross the border, and retrieve Lady Aliah de Mowbray. Always up for a challenge, he agrees, pursuing his conquest with vigor - and trying to deny the powerful desire that eclipses him each time he touches his charge. A rogue of the highest order and a younger son, he has nothing to offer a lady but a broken heart.

Aliah is skeptical of the English noble who has come to take her to her father and sister in Scotland, but she pushes her doubts aside. Without word in months, she must make certain her family is safe, then she can return to England to join the convent to which she has sworn to pledge her life. But then her escort reveals his true self - he's a Highlander and his kisses are more seductive than the sweetest of wines. Surrender never tasted so sweet....

Book 2 Does Not Disappoint

This is a nice continuation in the series. I liked book one but I though this was a little better. It had more adventure and suspense than book one. Aliah and Blaine had great chemistry and the story moved along at a good pace. I would recommend to anyone who enjoys light highlander romances. Also, the narrator is great. .

THEY CAN STEAL ME ANYTIME !!

Give me a historical romance listen that's got a claymore wielding, kilt wearing, sexy handsome Highlander and I'm happy - then couple it with an awesome plot filled with hours of fun and enjoyable scene building chapters that's been created by the talented mind of Eliza Knight and I'm in heaven.

It has a storyline that carries you along with Lady Aliah and Blane as they ride through England and make their way to the Highlands but they slowly find themselves drawn to each other until their hot kisses are just not enough to put out the flames of desire and so their passion finally ignites. Along the way there are various mishaps, fun, thrills and adventures but despite it all the two can't help but feel the pull of attraction and neither want to ignore it. It has it's sexy hot spots between two very likeable characters who, despite the lies and their differences, manage to find friendship........ and love.

Worth a credit? That would, of course, be a YES and I'm glad to see I only have 12 more days until book 3 The Highlander's Lady (Daniel's story) is released so I've happily already pre-ordered it and I'm counting the days.

Endless teasing love....

I loved this story--Mainly because you have two very strong leads who are bound to fall deeply in love. Despite the imminent war and animosity between their countries, Scottish Warrior Blane Sutherland and Lady Aliyah De Mowbray find that they are unable to fight against the pull that makes their love inevitable.

Both of these characters are fabulous and intriguing. Blane is a master of disguise. It all starts out as Blane's brother, Laird Magnus Sutherland entrusts him with the mission of bringing Lady Aliyah out of English to the Highlands at the request of his wife Lady Arbella. Lady Arbella is worried about her sister's safety and Magnus will do anything to please his wife. So, since Magnus, a fierce laird and warrior is whooped, well his brother Blane is bound to also become ensnared by the beautiful lady in his charge who Arbella's sister.

The development of the relationship between Blane & Lady Aliyah was great! There were very sweet, steamy & then funny moments between the two. I like how this author creates equally strong male and female leads.

The aspect that I think is cute is how the guys always are respectful toward the ladies and wait until they are ready instead of pushing themselves on them (both Magnus & Blane)..haha. That is what I refer as the "teasing love" part of this book. For the majority of the book Blane and Aliyah are constantly falling into each other's embraces despite the extensive mental effort they make to keep their hands to themselves. Blane & Lady Aliyah's love is such a tease because their bodies can't seem to stay away from each other....lol Yet, they don't consummate their love until close to the end of the book.

I have to say that there are some solutions that come a little too easy, such as the English father accepting both his daughter's marriage to Scottish enemies, but hey...who cares this is fantasy, right?

Great narrator....she is so smooth. Very enjoyable listen on my long commute.

Excellent narration for wonderful story

This story kept me captivated from start to finish, and the narration kept up with the story's need for descriptions, emotions, character development, excitement, and love. Well done!

An Okay Highland Romance

A bit slow at times, but I liked the characters and wanted to see their HEA. The end seemed rushed and the storyline around the Blaine's inner turmoil seemed to fall apart and was never fleshed out before quickly being resolved and forgotten.

The narrator was good, she's no Rosslyn Landor, but much better than many I've heard, especially with a male Scottish brogue.

Wonderful story for another side

I loved getting to know these characters. I had been very curious when they had been introduced previously. This book do them justice in allowing me to see those characters for their depth and see the evolution in the books as they embraced their love for each other.

A Little Disappointed

I was looking for more action, not just the chase between Blane and Aliah. Their attraction and their fight against their attraction was the whole book and I needed more.

Love me a conflicted Highlander in need of love

I stumbled upon this book from another reviewer and I'm glad I did. The rich descriptions of the Scottish countryside combined with witty banter make this book a must listen. I didn't realize it was a second book in a series so now I'm going back to listen to the fisrt one. I love the narrators range of voices and different accents, she gives the story a real personality. Add in a great conflict between characters and some historical facts and you have yourself a red hot love story.

Blane Sutherland watched as his parents were murdered in front of him as a child. Now he one mission in life, find his parents killer and exact his revenge. Lady Aliah De Mowbray feels deeply responsible for her mothers death the day she was born. Now her only wish is to join the church for the rest of her life in an attempt to atone for her supposed sins. When the two of them are forced together in an unusual circumstance they find they can't resist the passion the burns between them.

If you love hunky highlanders and strong stubborn women who somehow manage to fall in love mixed with a little history you will want to spend a credit right here.

A good romance story

Eliza Knight sure knows how to write a good romance story. I'm new to her work but enjoyed this very much and hope the others in the series are as enjoyable.
