A war rages in the shadows for control of a terrifying new world.
But the door should never have been opened.
They're coming....
When Dr. Grace Palmer and her team of research scientists discover a way into a mysterious world they name the Heavenfield, they trigger a devastating chain of events.
Bizarre, unexplained murders and attacks on the project leave scientists trapped in the Field with no way to return.
As their air supplies run low and their equipment begins to fail, their nightmares begin to play out before them....
Hailed as a "Modern-day Classic of Science-Fiction", The Heavenfield is the first book of the Heavenfield series.
Contains: Violence, horror, mild drug reference, strong language.

I first heard this on iTunes Podcast oh so long ago. I downloaded it, fell in love with the story and never stopped listening to it. It’s one of my favorites so much so that I every so often I look it up on Audible and tonight, to my delight here it was. And imagine my surprise when I saw there’s a another book, a prelude to the entire ordeal. But since this is my introduction to
the Heavenfield universe this is where I shall begin again. Listening to and reliving the journey. Oh and the narration is sublime, just another reason to listen to Hulme again and again.
Simply put, I love it

That said, what about the content? Creative, sometimes violent, very "out of the norm" and most definitely cross-genre. Horror? Tick? Supernatural? Tick. Scifi? TIck? Where do I stop? This is a sprawling, sometimes too much so, book which could likely benefit from some sharp editing and focussing.
That all said, this is an amazing book ( esp for fans of the 3 genres I noted ) and I highly recommend it.
