Oh, dear. Bella Manchelli is so not having a good day. First, she's deliciously exhausted from last night's sizzling one-night stand. Second, there's a (gulp) dead body at her back door. Third...um, that scrumptious one-nighter is at her front door... and he's wearing a badge!
Police Officer Jacob Madden is all about duty. Until he shows up looking for a homicide...and runs right into last night's slice of sexy heaven! Damn, he just can't think straight when he's around Bella. All he wants to do is lick her up one side and down the other....
Can duty and smoking-hot sex blend for a while? Definitely! Until Jacob discovers that several of the guys Bella's dated have turned up dead. Jacob loves being around Bella. But is he ready to be used as target practice?

Good story with great character chemistry and just the right amount of heat! If you like sweet romances that aren't too deep, consider this a credit well spent.

More steam than story, but still a fun listen
Bella seems a little shallow at first, but as the book goes on, you see that she has more layers, as does her relationship with Jacob. I have to agree with other reviewers that this is more a steamy Harlequin romance than story, but the story does keep you wondering 'who dunnit' and is fun. The narrator is tolerable, but has almost no differentiation between characters' voices, and when she does, it sounds strained. If you liked this story, then be sure to read/listen to the Animal Magnetism series. It has much better character development and plots that keep you turning the page.

Cute story, but rough narration
Jill Shalvis is one of my favorites, and the story is cute, but I am constantly distracted by the narration. Her female voices are fine, but her male voices are totally off. I am having a hard time telling who is talking and the guy sounds like he has a mouth full of cotton. Sorry! I will avoid this narrator from now on.

Bad Bad Bad
I hated this book. Just sex nothing in between. Why did the protagonists fall in love?...Oh wait, I remember, because they had mind-blowing sex...pffsst! No other reason I could see. No mystery to the shooters identify either, you knew who it was the minute the character was first introduced. A bad version of a bad seventies cop show...with poorly written sex scenes thrown in everywhere.
