Merdoc has returned…To the world, he is the most terrifying and powerful sorcerer to have ever lived, a tyrannical conquering force accompanied by his armies comprised of men and the unimaginable: mages, dragons, vampires…and even goblins. To the Northern Lands and their Kings, he is the greatest betrayer and defiler of the most sacred treaties. But there is no chance of this, for Merdoc is undefeatable and untouchable, never risks a battle he is not certain to win, and has never lost a single thing that he has claimed as his own. It seems the only hope for those who stand against him is that the Star of Chance finally counter Merdoc’s foresight and for the first time, produce an unforeseen fate.
