Being able to communicate effectively and fend off potential medical mishaps is a must. The purpose of this audiobook is to (1) provide you with the tools you need to actively engage in your overall health care, (2) address your concerns in finding and receiving high quality care, and (3) educate you on both a basic and advanced level.

With the implementation of health care reform and the concern to provide not only access to care, but access to quality health care, this is a useful tool. In short, this audiobook will help you effectively navigate the health care system and avoid mishaps that can occur.

Like most people, your knowledge may be limited and you may have trouble making sense of the sea of confusion in managing the care of yourself and your loved ones.

This audiobook will teach you: 1. The major health care problems we face and the goals of national health care reform, 2. What quality care is about; 3. Sources of medical errors, and your role in preventing them; 4. How to find and choose the best primary health care providers; 5. How to communicate effectively with your health providers; 6. Scripts you can use with your provider to prevent diagnostic errors; 7. How to manage your health care and treatment effectively; 8. Tools to maintain accurate health care records; 9. Your rights as a patient, and 10. How to use the internet to find accurate and reliable health care information.

If you've been an adult longer than 35 minutes and your IQ exceeds 43, you don't need this book. It's outdated, hasn't aged well, and is full of the most obvious information on the planet. For example, this book will teach you that you should keep your doctor appointments and communicate your health concerns to your doctor. Yeah, the whole book is like that.
