Just Bad

The writing in this book is terrible. It relies on moronic stereotypes of the South and annoying characters.

Unimaginative, longwinded story, with problematic audio

The female narrator’s ear piercing “s” and “z” sounds really ruined all the parts she read. I tried lowering the volume but her voice is otherwise soft and difficult to hear. Performance wise she was fine and the male narrator was good. Unfortunately my ears hurt after finishing the book.
The story is typical, exactly what you expect, with few ups or downs. Not hot, not cold, just tepid. I didn’t much like the characters. It all seemed slightly superficial and artificial. Both her “drama” and his were far fetched. The push-pull was forced.
If this were a 2-hour book, I would rate it higher but it is so long that I couldn’t wait to finish it.
