In the valley of the Upper Nile, on the bank of the river, is the town of Akhmim, once called Panopolis. In ancient times, Panoplis was the capital of the district. In the town stood remnants of a monastery. The ruins of the temple marked the intellectual life of ancient days. On the lands of the monastery was a graveyard wherein were interred the monks and priests who served there long ago.

In 1868, a French archaeologist and his team were excavating this same cemetery in Egypt when they came upon a certain tomb from the eighth century. In the tomb was a monk, reclining peacefully with hands folded on his breast. His reverent hands clasped a small book, which he believed to be sacred, holy, and inspired. The book was an anthology containing three books the monk held most precious, The Gospel of Peter, The Apocalypse of Peter, and The Book of Enoch. In this book, we will examine the texts of the Gospel of Peter and the Apocalypse of Peter, also called the Revelation of Peter.

Serious business.

This book inspired great gratitude to the LORD Jesus for saving me and all others who have turned to Him. It also inspired a prayer for those who don't know and love Him to turn to Him and to His Word.

I am always saddened when an author does what is now fashionable (substituting the term CE instead of sticking with AD) which is to erase the visitation of the Author of Life from the timeline of His coming to the earth which was created by Him and for Him. Whenever there is the fork in the road where we, who belong to our Father through Christ, have to make the choice to be man pleasers or GOD pleasers, I pray for the Holy Spirit to grace us to be GOD pleasers (and to do so in such a way as to shine for Him so that others will know He loves them and that He loves us too)!

Totally worth it!

I will listen to this Audio Again because I love this history that it teaches and also the narrator made it very entertaining!!!! It's not a long book Audio but incredible to listening to it!!! A. 100!!!!!!
