Fun Ending

I’ve enjoyed the whole series. It’s one I will listen to again. Although I’m an old fart, it’s fun to listen to these young adult books.

Good Book

Slightly predictable, they could have done a lot more with a longer book but I did enjoy it.

Mind Grabbing

This series is very mind grabbing. The trials and tribulations of Column Hunt and his friends are exciting and leave you constantly wondering what they will get into next. Highly recommended.

Deflation plus

So the kids, or actually the 1.5 kid if you are counting souls, save the whole world. In this series, we have to balance the fact that the real world setting means that we can't imagine that the small cast is saving a world having only a couple hundred thousand people. The threat will spill over for billions, but a handful of kids will outwit the Big Bad - which turns out easy to do because he is just a whiney, spoiled kid himself. And then the Big Scary Tribunal fizzles. In a long life of reading books, I have never felt so let down. The cover art is much more engaging. Now that the story is over, I am left scratching my head about what a soul is, and how it can be moved around, and how it can even bring a long dead decaying corpse back to life without looking/smelling like some horror movie zombie. And of course, don't get me going on how graduating from an abbreviated high school is the high point of preparing for life as a world-saving wizard. Even medieval alchemists had more training,

Good story. Bad skipping. Why?!

The 14 year old and mother listened to this series. I don't know why, but it skipped too much. Maybe it doesn't for everyone? Really enjoyed the story and were able to imagine what's in the gaps.

Ho hum for the final book

A bit anticlimactic final story without the same level of anticipation and excitement as in the former books in the series. The narration was stilted, especially after quotes.
