Publisher's summary

On a well-deserved hiatus from the ghoulish grind of their TV show, Ghoul Getters, psychic medium M. J. Holliday, her boyfriend, Heath, and her best friend, Gilley, are back home in Boston. But there’s no rest for the weary ghost busters. M. J.’s ex comes to her for help - his fiance’s brother Luke seems haunted by a sinister spirit.

The crew sets up surveillance cameras to watch for the possessive poltergeist while Luke is sleeping. But when he goes outside in the middle of the night and returns hours later covered in blood, they are all very concerned - especially when the news reports the murder of a young woman in the neighborhood.

Now M. J., Heath, and Gilley must remain self-possessed as they try to stop a wicked ghost whose behavior is anything but neighborly.

Home is where the scare is!

What did you love best about The Ghoul Next Door?

If I could give this a 4 1/2 I would!

This book was really, really good. The last few have been good, don't get me wrong. This one though was outstanding. There were more plot twists and turns and it was slightly darker than usual.

I liked the stories in Europe with the haunted castles, etc. and the Native American story was good. It showed a different side of the medium aspect. But this harkened back to the murder mystery side of the ghost busting. This time with a serial killer.

Also, the crew was back home so you saw characters you haven't heard about in awhile.

What did you like best about this story?

They had to work back and forth between the past and the present to figure out what ghost they were dealing with

Have you listened to any of Eileen Stevens’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Eileen Stevens did a good job

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No extreme reaction

Any additional comments?

I am looking forward to the next book. M.J. is heading back home to see her Dad.

Extraordinary

Would you listen to The Ghoul Next Door again? Why?

Yes! It was amazing! It kept me up at work. It kept me in a suspense right throughout the entire story!

What did you like best about this story?

I love Gilley he was fantastic. He lightened up the entire story. Kept me on my heels.

What about Eileen Stevens’s performance did you like?

She is the best narrator I have ever listened to.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes! Its like watching television, you just want to sit and watch without any interruption.

Any additional comments?

Funny thing is I have not listen to book 1-7. I just saw this book as a daily deal and i decided to listen to the sample. While listening to the sample, I decided to purchase it. From that time, I got hook on it and just wanted to finish it as I was excited through the entire book. It gave me tears in my eyes, it gave me a smile on my face, it allowed my heart to beat at a very fast rate. I am definitely buying book one to try the rest of the series.

Series is getting better

What I liked the best about this installment of the series was the lack of overly whining Gilly. I was a little sad not to be whisked off to some fun foreign location, but it was nice to see Stephen again, and to have the bird back.

Another great listen!

Back in the States for this one. This story has lots of new twists & turns. This series gets better with each book. A must read but read series from beginning because this one ties in old characters and loves.

More Ghostly Fun!

I really enjoyed this one and Gilley wasn't quite as annoying as he has been in the past so that's a bonus!

Scariest One Yet!

What did you love best about The Ghoul Next Door?

This one was different because the author brought in a stronger connection between real life events and murderous hauntings. This made for a creepy-scarey story that I actually had to turn off sometimes!

What did you like best about this story?

I'm glad that the author and the narrator took a lot of the whine out of Gilly.I still wouldn't miss his character if he moved away, but at least he's not quite as obnoxious in this book. He has been written to sound like a 12 year old, self centered child with an eating disorder. He's supposed to be a tech wiz- kid who happens to be Gay. I'm missing the link between those 2 character types.

What about Eileen Stevens’s performance did you like?

The performance is great as usual. She does the voices very well(even if I hate Gilly's whine)

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Just spooky!

Any additional comments?

Keep going...it's lots of fun, especially with Gilly on ritalin,he's much easier to deal with!
