What if life as we know it was just a game?
What if instead of traditional schools, children learned by participating in a virtual reality simulation, one that allowed them to experience "life" from birth to death - multiple times?
What if one player, on his final play, could change the world forever?

The fantastic Luke Daniels delivers just as I have come to expect. His efforts would have been much more appreciated if he had some elements of humor to work with. And that is the primary factor in my dissatisfaction with The Game. I regret that this sounds a bit harsh but after experiencing the Frontlines series narrated by Luke Daniels I got used to Daniel’s sarcasm. I missed that here.

Even moreso because the narrator was fantastic! Characters were sometimes accented and still sounded incredible, men sounded masculine (easy for a male narrator), and women sounded feminine (*not* easy for a male narrator). I could even tell the difference in characters ages! I knew it was an old man or woman talking or self narrating, or a teenager!
The air of mystery and romance and danger was always around, it kept me hooked. I was enjoying every moment of it, even the snippets of exposition between chapters, which came in the form of quotes from other aspects of the world in which the story takes place. These snippets were always enjoyable to listen to and think about in relation to the grand scheme of the story, and many times they were even motivational.
I have seen some reviews here on Audible that are severely negative towards this book, and I can't understand why. Of course, the book isn't backed by science and research, it's not written to be as realistic as possible, and it's not meant to be studied. It's just a downright fun book with some incredibly interesting thought experiments for most normal people in the world, and I love that.
Give it a read, you genuinely won't regret it.
