Enjoyable start to this series

I really enjoyed this book & I'm going to continue with book 2. I liked the foreshadowing & it gives excitment for a potentially wonderful series. No intense CH, but there's an eagerness to find out what will happen next!

My only issue was the narrator. I'm not fully certain if her microphone or recording equipment had an echo or if she has a nasally tone that makes people who talk like that sound like there's a constant snort in their voice. Either way, I found it irritatingly distracting. Many times I had to rewind or restart chapters because that sound made it hard to listen to the story. It was that distracting to me. Why is there so little disregard for wanting to do your job well when narrating? If only every narrator took pride in their work to sound check their work, make seamless edits, avoid irritating tones, & eliminate making unnecessary inflections/tones at the end of sentences, there'd be very rare customer complaints.

Sorry to rant, but this is my biggest issue with a lot of audio books...whoever selects a narrator to use for a book needs an additional contract line that permits refusal to use a recording if it's not up to a predefined standard. Reviews matter, so when I see too many complaints on poor narration, I don't buy that audio book, regardless if the story sounds incredible. I'm held to a standard in my profession & any negative deviation can cause irreparable damage to a client. I don't understand how many narrators are fine with attaching their name to such low standards when their performance significantly impacts an audio book's success.

Fury Queen

Another amazing audiobook delivered by one of my favorite narrators. Narration was amazing as usual, no surprises there. Even though I am her biggest fan when she reads comedy, I did enjoy this book.

As far as the story goes, I liked it. It's entertaining, but so far it didn't blow me away and while the start was very very promising, it was a little messy towards the ending, feeling somewhat rushed. But an entertaining read nonetheless.

Another HIT!

The Fury Queen's Harem by Meg Xuemei X is the first in a completed series. We get to meet Daisy, one very cursed princess. Then we get to meet her harem, a group of 3 cursed dragon princes.
Curses abound in this story, and everyone has a different one.
We have dragons, monsters, elves, vampires, demons and demigods just to name a few.
If fantasy is what you are looking for, then this is the book to dive into.

What a reverse harem gem

This is my first Meg the author listen and what a listen. It has everything you want in a story , it’s fast pace , with many layers and cunning on the females part .
It has the mingling of shifter , fai dragons, furies, witches , vampires and spaceships .
Heroine is Daisy. There are three hero’s. Her men , Daisys mates , Rai, Blaze, and Iokul. Daisy is stuck on a planet until a curse is broken . Daisy is also part fai , dragon and fury . Daisies planet is where the dragons rule . There is only one way for her to go back home , and her curse to be broken, Daisy must find and kiss her true mate . The three men Rai, Blaze, and Iokul are Royal Dragon Prince.n She’s stuck on the planet and ruling the planet forest because the head vampire just got up and left . Some spaceships appear and fire .
Rai, Blaze, and Iokul are on the spaceships looking for a cure to their curse . But more importantly they are looking to cash in on the bounty that all three spaceships are gunning for . They need to bring back the heads of the furies .
Are the 3 Royal dragons her true mates . Will Daisy curse be lifted. Will the dragon prince find what they are looking for . Grab the listen and escape to a beautiful story .

Melissa Schwairy was excellent. Her voice is strong , clear , smooth and perfect

Different.. but worth listening to 🎧

The narrator was on point! I also enjoyed the story. This is the first time I've listened to a book by this author. I will definitely be listening to part two of this series once it's available. As well as checking out other books by this author. I was pleasantly surprised.
