This was the age of the first-world empires, the days when Assyria, Babylon, Greece, and Rome each displayed their passion for power. It was an age which demanded the resounding and inspired voices of many of God’s greatest spokesmen. The turbulent chaos of these centuries brought forth many mighty prophets of God—Elijah, Elisha, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Jonah, Lehi, Nephi, Daniel, Zechariah, and many others. The lives and times of all these men are in this audiobook.
This is the third and final volume of this series dealing with the Old Testament. This present volume deals with the exciting scriptural epic which emerged between the time of David and the coming of Christ.
For those who find the Old Testament an arduous reading, this should prove especially inspirational and helpful.

Nephi puts us on notice in his very first sentence that The Book of Mormon was written by temple worshippers and for temple worshippers. He and the other prophets of The Book of Mormon, who called themselves the visionary men and the peaceable followers of Christ, knew and practiced a mystery, an ordinance by which they ascended through the temple and entered into the presence of God. This ordinance was embodied in a dramatic representation of the expulsion of Adam and Eve from Eden and their return to it, in which initiates played the roles of Adam and Eve or their descendants.

the Old Testament can be incredible difficult to understand. this book provides references for all of it's work, and provides an excellent study guide that pulls you into another time.

Excellent reader
Not only is this book thoroughly researched and written by scholar Cleon Skousen but the reading of the material by his grandson is brilliant. He presents just enough emotion to make it come alive and interesting. I highly recommend all audible books read by Adam Skousen.
