Publisher's Summary

The thrilling new Jack West adventure from the best-selling author of The Great Zoo of China and The Five Greatest Warriors.

A Ruthless Kidnapping

Jack West Jr and his family are living happily on their remote farm when Jack is brutally kidnapped and awakes in an underground cell to find a masked attacker with a knife charging at him.

The Great Games

Jack, it seems, has been chosen - along with a dozen other elite soldiers - to compete in a series of deadly challenges designed to fulfil an ancient ritual. With the fate of the Earth at stake, he will have to traverse diabolical mazes, fight cruel assassins and face unimaginable horrors that will test him like he has never been tested before.

To Hell and Back

In the process he will discover the mysterious and powerful group of individuals behind it all: the four legendary kingdoms.

Critic Reviews

"Matthew Reilly novels should come with health warnings on the cover. [T]he non-stop life-threatening action from enemies using guns, missiles, poisons, machetes and martial arts against Reilly's heroes is not for the faint-hearted. It's a wild ride." (Vince Flynn, New York Times best-selling author)
"Nobody writes action like Matthew Reilly." ( Chicago Sun-Times)

I'm still not sure, Sorry Matthew

What did you love best about The Four Legendary Kingdoms?

I love Jack west and the relationship he has with the other characters and history

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Sorry Matthew but I think its too much of a mix of contest and scarecrowI loved both of those books but it feels a bit forced putting jack in that type of role

Have you listened to any of Sean Mangan’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, I love his voice

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I had extreme disappointment when I realised the book was "not quite jack"Loved the underlining historical story and how Jack knows and figures it outI've listened and re read the book again with mixed emotions about the cross over between characters.

Any additional comments?

I love Matthew's books but after such a long wait for this one it felt a little rushed. But I still love the series.

The Countdown Continues.

Matthew Reilly is the master of the count down. Four Legendary Kingdoms continues this tradition. Some time as passed since the last book and the characters have all matured. This creates new interests and dynamics between characters. Jack West Jr continues the proven formula of action combined with history to uncover the mysteries of the ancient world. But,in a similar vein to Contest, this life an death battle pits Jack against some of Matthew Reilly's most impressive characters yet.

Brilliant, but read the previous books to enjoy this story even more.

Another brilliant book by Reilly.

Would you listen to The Four Legendary Kingdoms again? Why?

I have already listened to the book twice and like other Reilly books I will listen to the story again in the next 6 to 12 months..

What did you like best about this story?

Adding Scarecrow to the story.

What about Sean Mangan’s performance did you like?

Sean is a fantastic narrator and he should narrate all his books.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

While you are still breathing never give up.

Any additional comments?

This book is a great sequel to the Jack West stories. Reilly shows again that he is a brilliant writer and well above the standard of other writers like Clancy

Unique and perfect.

It may not win classical literature accolades but any Matthew Reilly books is one I can't put down. They're simple and ridiculous but that's why I love them. Their simplicity makes it all the easier to get emersed and lost in his books and this is no different.

Just what i've come to expect

Would you listen to The Four Legendary Kingdoms again? Why?

yes! Matt has a beautiful way of mixing well known myth and fantasy into a thrilling action packed rollercoaster that you notice new things in everytime you read it.

Who was your favorite character and why?

the lord of the underworld. such a well known character and a great dipiction of an otherwise stereotyped historical figure

What does Sean Mangan bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

the narrator brings a previous history and continuation from the previous novels. with that in mind his voice work for characters, accents and such is bang on the money. he has a great voice for suspense and elequent delivery of the nature of the book and what the story deserves

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

when jack and hadies make their deal

Any additional comments?

keep writing matt. you're a brilliant writer. anyone with an interest in history, myth and fast paced action/ military ops should read this

What did I like about this trilogy ....everything. Three fantastic books following the escaped of Jack West and his fantastic team. Please ,please Matthew more ,more ,more

What other book might you compare The Four Legendary Kingdoms to, and why?

All the 3 books

What about Sean Mangan’s performance did you like?

He's the only person for the job.

Could you see The Four Legendary Kingdoms being made into a movie or a TV series? Who would the stars be?

I wish... Once upon a time I would have thought Jack Thompson, Bryan Brown Bruce Willis or Harrison Ford.Maybe Jamie Fox accept Jack is a white Aussie. So Hugh Hackman, Chris Hemsworth, Simon Baker, Richard Roxburgh to many good Aussie's to pick from

Excellent

Matthew Reilly has returned to the fast pace, intricate and well written story telling that I love. After the disappointing outing that was the "zoo of China " , it was a thrill to listen to this book . Love love this book , kept me on edge all the way through.

Jack West Jnr & Scarecrow!

The 4th book in the Jack West Jnr series, this time Jack is in a tournament to save the world against the best of the best, including Shane 'Sacrecrow' Schofield from Matthew Reilly's others book series.

Just like the other 3 this one is full of over the top situations and people and just like the other 3 I love it for that very reason!

Leave your brain at the door (especially if you're a history fanatic like me) and just enjoy the ride.

5/5 love it and can't wait for the next book later this year (2018).

Great audiobook

Love the Jack West Jr series and while this one was a lot different from the previous 3, it was still a great read/listen. Sean was the perfect choice to read.
