Forty-years old and still reeling from a public and painful divorce, Thalia Blackwood is looking for a fresh start, somewhere far away from her upside down life. When she's offered a new job as the sports therapist for a football (soccer) team, she jumps at the chance. This is just what she needs to leave the heartbreak and shame of Manchester behind, trading it in for the warmth and hopeful vibrancy of Madrid.

Alejo Albarado is rising up the ranks in his career. As the charming forward for the Real Madrid team, Alejo's life revolves around women, parties, and being a tabloid darling, that is until the new sports therapist joins the team.

Their passion could not be ignored. What starts out as a strictly professional relationship between Thalia and the young Spanish player, slowly evolves into something more. Much more.

But their combustible chemistry and simmering sexual tension can only go so far-should Thalia give into Alejo's advances, she's at risk of not only losing her job, but succumbing to a younger man will drag her through the spotlight again.

Alejo might be worth that risk. Unless he breaks her heart in the process.

Contains mature themes.

I enjoyed this listen more than some I've listened to recently. So sweet and yet spicy! I definitely recommend!

Such a sweet, spicy story!

I liked the story, it was really sweet and tender. I like the fact that the age gap is reversed and it is the first time I read this kind of trop. The female narrator was a little robotic at times, but it was good in general, although she can work a little on her Spanish pronunciation. On the other hand, the male narrator was pretty good, acting the emotions and everything, you could actually hear him smile, the Spanish accent was pretty good! It reminded me of Enrique Iglesias, pretty sexy.

Nice Spanish Accent

Well … even though the pronunciations and translations were definitely off and In some cases off putting, The author definitely captured the passion of the Spanish culture. I felt that the female lead was quite a bit of a flake for a 40 year old woman, and was definitely a terrible decision maker as well as a door mat for her mother and “friend”. At times when she tried to be cute in Spanish it came off as patronizing and a little insulting. So I can’t really say that I actually liked her, but I guess towards the end of the story she kind of redeemed herself. I also enjoyed that Mateo and Vera were brought into this book several years later after their story in an other book, but I felt he was being hypocritical as it pertained to Alejo’s love story. Overall I did enjoy the story, the love that the male lead showed and the spicy stuff was hot as well. If author works a little more on interpretation and the narrators were actually bilingual, these books would be phenomenal. I still enjoyed it and it was with my time.

Good story.
