W. Cleon Skousen
This classic work by W. Cleon Skousen is designed to make the study of the Bible an inspirational pleasure.
Hundreds of details about the early history of mankind had become entirely lost until the restoration of the gospel. These details about the first 2,000 years of human history are all to be found in this groundbreaking volume. We now know that Adam and Eve had two generations of children before Cain and Abel were born. The exact year of the Great Flood can now be calculated. Details about the golden age of Enoch are now available so we can better understand how the law of consecration works and how it eliminates poverty and crime. Many difficult questions can now be answered: Did the Patriarchs really live for hundreds of years? What about the incredible population growth in ancient times? How has the geography of the earth changed since ancient times? Why were Pagan religions so attractive to ancient peoples? And why did God abhor these Pagan religions so much? All of these enlightening revelations belong to the sweeping panorama of the first 2,000 years of human history.

While Adam Skousen's narration was okay, I would have preferred someone with a slightly deeper voice to narrate. The only negative about the narration is that when Skousen would speak as a specific person (the Lord or any one else) he would try to change hos voice, usually slightly lower as a male but sometimes try to speak in a female voice. It sounded almost like a child trying to speak in his father's or mother's voice & was distracting. He doesn't have the range for that, I don't think that this book needs different voices for different speakers because it's not a fiction novel, it's very much nonfiction, it all actually happened. It would have been better of he had just used his own voice throughout the entire book. It was at times very distracting. Otherwise he did alright. I would lile to hear a different narrator though.
Great Book. Okay Narration.
