The first book, The Rose Diary, is a roller-coaster of suspense, and this one will take you on an even wilder ride.

In book one, we learn that Jacky's sister, Sandra, has been murdered by poison. A series of paranormal experiences lead to the arrest of someone Jacky has never really been fond of. But is that the real murderer?

This exciting second book takes you through twist after twist and keeps you guessing. A ghost story, murder mystery, and courtroom drama, this audiobook is fantastically fun.

I am a 66 year old woman but I loved listening to this book. The voice actress had the young voice of the heroine and did a great job. I was wondering how a man could write so well about the feelings and attitude of a young rebellious teen girl. Then I saw it was co-written with a woman too...

A great story, gripped me and pulled me into the world of this young girl who lost her sister and was then angry with the world.

This book is actually in two parts. This review is a full review of both parts, so the same review.

First person narrative during the first part of the book, which is well done; very descriptive writing.

Very well written. Rarely, if ever, have I listened to a full audiobook at one sitting (this is only 5 hours long, so that wasn't difficult), but this book had me enthralled from the start. Correction. The audio files I received are in two parts, each just over 5 hours.

I'm always reluctant to actually expose the plot of books I review. I personally dislike being spoiled with what is going to happen. Jaclyn's sister, Sandra, dies, and the family has to cope.  The book is told from Jaclyn's point of view throughout as she tries to deal with the loss and her feelings.

It turns out that Sandra did not die a natural death. Jackie and her friends are drawn into looking for evidence of the events surrounding her death, leading to some very surprising twists. Part 2 of the book is told in the third person.

This is an excellent book. As I said, very well written and very well narrated.

Brilliant

A stunning conclusion! The twists and turns kept me guessing and I love the added paranormal aspect. The door has been left open for future cases and adventures and I would definitely be interested is seeing what could come.

The authors did a great job of keeping the characters realistic and down to earth. The storyline was great, and I certainly did not see that ending coming!

Jess Combs delivered a great performance. She really captured the personalities of the characters.

This like all books I read, I wish I had read book 1. It would have given me a little more background. This book has a lot of mystery. Who killed Sandy? The ending is surprising. I like that in a book. I think I would have given it 5 stars if I had read book 1.

The Final Chapters of the
Rose Diary
: Curtis Maynard

This novel continues on from where the Rose Diary left off. The girls and the young lady lawyer are working to free Eric. There are many twists and turns as the story

develops. The surprises through the story are interesting. The ending was a bit unexpected.

There were several instances where closer editing would have helped. The visit to Sugar's locker was said to be Sandra's locker. During trial said day Eric died

instead of night Sandra died. I'm not sure if I missed more. If the listener can overlook these then not too bad.

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed by Jess Combs.
