Terry Giles
Acerca de esta escucha
Terry Giles has lived a classic-American success story. By 30, he had built one of the largest criminal defense firms in Southern California and had generated tens of millions in revenue working with high-profile clients. By 34, he had left the legal profession and had achieved even greater success as an entrepreneur, seemingly overnight. But as Giles observes in The Fifteen Percent, no one goes through life without facing serious obstacles. Speaking about his own hard-won experience from his difficult upbringing to his place in some of America’s loftiest boardrooms, Giles offers listeners the answer to the question that took him years to answer: Why do some people overcome hardships better than others?
Using examples from his career and life - defending child sex-abuse victims, his involvement in Monica Lewinsky’s trial, and managing Dr. Ben Carson’s 2016 presidential campaign - he illustrates these ideas in action. In each chapter, you’ll learn valuable skills including fearlessness, embracing underdog status, visualizing the future, positive thinking, all of which prove that you do not have to be a victim of bad circumstances to adopt the superpowers of “the fifteen percent.”
Entertaining, inspiring, and full of useful insights you’ll turn to again and again, The Fifteen Percent will help you overcome whatever’s holding you back so that you can achieve lasting success in your career and your life.

Dan Sullivan, the world's leading coach for highly successful entrepreneurs, wants you to know that achieving 10X growth is exponentially easier than striving for 2X growth. Most find this idea confusing at first because simply imagining 10X growth causes them to think they need to do 10X more work to achieve it. However, being a 10X entrepreneur is nothing like what most people think.

Anybody can get lucky. Nobody controls the odds like Billy Walters. Widely regarded as “the Michael Jordan of sports betting,” Walters is a living legend in Las Vegas and among sports bettors worldwide. With an unmatched winning streak of thirty-six consecutive years, Walters has become fabulously wealthy by placing hundreds of millions of dollars a year in gross wagers, including one Super Bowl bet of $3.5 million alone. Competitors desperate to crack his betting techniques have tried hacking his phones, cloning his beepers, rifling through his trash, and bribing his employees.

How did Fidel Castro fool the CIA for a generation? Why did Neville Chamberlain think he could trust Adolf Hitler? Why are campus sexual assaults on the rise? Do television sitcoms teach us something about the way we relate to each other that isn't true? While tackling these questions, Malcolm Gladwell was not solely writing a book for the page. He was also producing for the ear. In the audiobook version of Talking to Strangers, you’ll hear the voices of people he interviewed - scientists, criminologists, military psychologists.

Preet Bharara has spent much of his life examining our legal system, pushing to make it better, and prosecuting those looking to subvert it. Bharara believes in our system and knows it must be protected, but to do so, he argues, we must also acknowledge and allow for flaws both in our justice system and in human nature. Bharara uses the many illustrative anecdotes and case histories from his storied, formidable career - the successes as well as the failures - to shed light on the realities of the legal system and the consequences of taking action.

Historia
We all think we are compassionate just like we all think we are honest. But true compassion is not innate. Compassion for others, especially those that we don’t know or understand, must be learned. Our lack of compassion is perhaps most extreme in the exercise of criminal justice, where a person’s entire life, worth, and character are judged through the myopic lens of a single act. But no one, says Robin Steinberg, should be reduced to their worst moment. From the founder and CEO of The Bail Project, The Courage of Compassion unveils how we can reimagine justice through compassion.

A few months before his ominous disappearance, Jimmy Hoffa had signed a publishing agreement to write this book with Oscar Fraley, a writer he trusted. Hoffa had many lengthy discussions with Fraley about what went right, what went wrong, and why, with no holds barred. Hoffa named names. He told who did what to whom, and who got what and why. Perhaps the clues to what happened to Hoffa are in this audio.

In this raw, intimate, and ultimately inspiring book, Madden holds nothing back as he shares what it took to get here and the lessons he's learned along the way.

More Autobiographical
It was a fun story, such an interesting life. I think the Fifteen Percent missed the mark. It was more life story with a sprinkle of “I need to mention the fifteen percent”.

Ok Story- Misleading Title
This guy has an interesting enough life that he could’ve just called this what it is- an autobiography. The whole 15% thing is barely discussed and rightfully so because it’s pretty flimsy.
