Andy Serkis is Amazing

It felt like I’m there, walking through Arda. Andy Serkis’ narration is absolutely brilliant. Can’t wait to hear all of them.

Amazing narration

Never read the book, but seen the movie mulitple times. Andy Serkis' narration is amazing! Lots of people are complaining about his singing, but for me it's not his performance that is the problem. I felt that the way the story is written with the singing parts are dull and that I lost my concentration whenever they came up.
Other than that it has been enjoyable to follow the fellowship through Serkis' voices and I'm looking forward to the next book.

Voices of Personality

Stunning work by Mr Serkis. I loved how you could hear the character through how he did their voice. And, of course, a wonderful story by Mr Tolkien.

A good audiobook rendition

Very well read, acted and sung.
A timeless tale, a bit slow at times, too many songs for my liking.
It's a almost century old tale and it shows in it's style, as it resembles almost a mythology tale.
Very enjoyable, I've rediscovered my love for Tolkien's work, with some caveats.

great fantasy and some great suspense, still a great listen even for movie watchers, plenty of good moments were cut

what a voice

I finally got through Lord of the Rings. Andy serkis is the greatest storyteller! I couldn't get through this book when reading but this way I finally can check of this book.

It was every bit as glorious as I would have hoped. Andy does every voice beautifully. I had shivers listening to the Mines of Moria chapter!
