Vermont in the fall, fake dating and only one bed!

Book 5 in the series but the only overlap is with book 4. You definitely have a lot of fun and emotional payoff if you read in sequence, but it's not required.

Oakley is a painter commissioned to prepare a large piece for a family run Vermont Inn (and it's suite of associated businesses) for their centennial celebration. She has 10 days from the moment she arrives to make this painting a reality however the guide who is supposed to help her understand the property, so she can capture it's essence, isn't helping. He's gruff and unresponsive on their first meeting and it just gets worse from there.

Finn is happy with his life on the family farm. It's where he wants to be. But when his ex tries to work her way back into his life, he needs a shield and Oakley is very conveniently there... But the more time they spend together pretending to be together to fend off the ex, the more they each start to see the other.

Add in the magic of Vermont in the fall (hello Hallmark movie vibes) and only one bed in Finn's cabin when the ex takes over the cottage Oakley was to say in and things heat up fast.

The audiobook for this one was performed by Andi Arndt and Aiden Snow. I love the flow and rhythm of Andi's performances. She always brings a connection to the character that grips me in the emotional moments and makes me laugh in the lighter ones. Sass and banter abound and Andi is perfect for it. Aiden's voice is so smooth most of the time, but when he gets gruff, or low... I Love it. He just led me to distraction at times when I couldn't focus on anything else but his voice and the story being told.

I requested and was generously provided with a copy of the audiobook. These are my honest opinions.

The Fall of Us by Kennedy Fox 4.5⭐️

I listened to The Fall of Us on audio book and it did not disappoint. The narrators were amazing and totally brought this story to life. I will say this is the first book in the series I listened to but that didn’t make it any less enjoyable. The series are interconnected stand alone(love those.)

Oakley and Finn are forced to work together when Finn’s ex shows up and throws some major kinks in the plan. This book gave all the small town cozy vibes & I was eating it up the whole time! Don’t let that fool you because this book does not lack in the ✨SPICE✨ department!

If you love small town, grumpy sunshine, age gap, & fake dating romances you should definitely put The Fall of Us by Kennedy Fox on your tbr!

*I was given an arc copy of this audiobook. This review is 100% my own and truthful!😊

Perfect fake girlfriend story!

I have been dying to get my hands on this story because Oakley was introduced to us. Add Finn to the mix and all bets are off. Both Arndt and Snow give such life to these characters that I felt like I was watching it all play out. I loved this wit and banter between these two as she has such a sunny disposition compared to Finn’s broody grumpiness. Add the fact that Oakley is thrown into the fire after Finn decided to use her as his fake girlfriend. There are some epic moments with amazing spice that will keep you on your toes from start to finish. I adored this book!

Loved it

I haven't listened Aiden Snow in a long time. And man did i love this one...
Oakley was commissioned to do a painting for the Bennett Orchard Farm for their 100th anniversary. And this is where she meets the grumpy Finn. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly except for Finn... What did she ever do to him.
Finn is not impressed with this city girl. He has a farm to run and doesn't need a city girl coming here to mess up everything. But soon his the one who needs her help out of a sticky situation. And on top of that live together in a tiny cabin, lol... I mean they hate each other so no problem, right...
I totally loved this one. Older, grumpy guy didn't want anything to do with her. But circumstances change. Loved their chemistry and loved the banter. And these two narrators totally made me laugh out loud and devour this story from start to end :-)

Such a fun and charming read!

I am a big fan of the writing duo Kennedy Fox and have been enjoying their stories for a long time. I recently had the opportunity to listen to The Fall of Us, narrated by Andi Arndt and Aiden Snow, and truly enjoyed this opposites attract age-gap romance. Not sure how I missed this series, but I am so excited to get into it now and read more. This is the 5th book in the series but can be read and enjoyed as a standalone.

Here we have Finn and Oakley and their journey was fun and delightful. I loved their chemistry and banter to much. Oakley was sunshine to Finn’s grumpiness and I was here for all of it. She was fun and likable and he has been hurt before and is more reserved. But when they find themselves fake dating, all bets are off and it was so much fun seeing them fall. This was a sweet, fun and steamy romance.

Happy listening!

Loved these two so much

I loved Finn and Oakley’s story. Who doesn’t love a good grumpy/sunshine love story. Oakley has been hired to make a painting for Finn’s family. He isn’t looking forward to being her tour guide while she is there and starts with attitude towards her from the moment they meet. She tries to be nice but he doesn’t seem to want to reciprocate. When his ex ends up coming to help at the family bakery, Finn says that Oakley is now his girlfriend. She goes along with it but during this interaction ends up giving her place to stay to his ex and ends up in his home. The fireworks between these two whether they were arguing or hooking up was great. As her time in Vermont comes to and end, Oakley and Finn are both not looking forward to it but at the same time can’t seem to fully tell the other how they feel. One click you will enjoy this story from start to finish.

Oakley and Finn!

I actually listened to the audio for this, and Aiden Snow and Andi Arndt were perfect bringing such different but endearing characters to life. This is an age gap, fake dating, oppositions attract romance, and artist Oakley and small town Finn found common ground even though they’re so different. This series is great in that it presents the characters in some forced situations that allow them to get to know each other. Oakley is a bright personality, and Finn is more a brooding man who’s still reeling from his last relationship. Their fake dating is to help Finn, though it turns out to be much more than what they expected. This was a great listen!

Love it!

The audiobook was crisp and the dialogue was what I imagined when I read the book for the first time. The pacing was good and I was able to clearly understand
the plot listening as I did while reading the E-ARC. I can't wait to hear more of Kennedy Fox's audiobooks!

Fantastic fall romance

I really enjoyed this fall romance, with a touch of grumpy/sunshine, age-gap, forced proximity, and a side of fake relationship, it hit most of my favorite tropes in one! The narration was very well done and I really felt immersed in the story.

Finn & Oakley

I really enjoyed listening to The Fall of Us. Finn and Oakley have incredible chemistry, add their banter to the mix and this couple is explosively hot.

Aiden Snow and Andi Arndt bring Finn and Oakley and they certainly added a lot more life and personality to these characters.

For me this was the best book in the series.

Gahhh this was even better in audio then it was as an ebook.
I do love me a grumpy hero *swoon* also, Bennett Farm, another fictional place added to the list of fictional places I’d love to visit. Out of all the Love In Isolation books, I think The Fall of Us is my favourite 🥰 it’s got my most favourite small town vibes, enemies to lovers tension that we all can’t live without and all the steamy scenes 🔥 if you love Kennedy Fox as much as I do, make sure you grab this one quick, it’s available now 😀 thanks as always for my review copy ladies, nailed it again.

My Thoughts on The Fall of Us

This was an entertaining grumpy/sunshine and age gap romance. Oakley and Finn were seemingly opposites on paper, but their attraction to each other was impossible to ignore. And when circumstances put them in a position to not only act on the attraction but also to really get to know each other they find out just how well they can work together. In and out of the bedroom. I will admit I didn’t love these two characters as much as previous ones in this series. And I did feel that their isolation situation was more of their own choice then the necessity of the previous books, but I still found the book enjoyable and easy to return to in between listening sessions. That was in part due to fantastic narrator choices. The narration was amazingly performed by Andi Arndt and Aidan Snow and I enjoyed every moment listening to their voices.

Hallmark with heat

Sunny city gal meets grumpy country guy in Vermont. Very cute enemies to lovers fake dating romance. A fun, easy listen.

Excellent narration but wish it was Emma Wilder and not Andi Arndt as she doesn't really sound like a mid-20-year-old. Aiden Snow was perfect.

Outstanding Story & Listen🎧 A Charming Delight!

This is a fabulous addition to the “Love in Isolation” series, Kennedy Fox never ceases to amaze me with their impressive writing skills and creative minds. Each book in this series stands on its own, but I recommend them all since each one is just as wonderful as the other. This fifth book is Finn and Oakley’s story, Oakley is Tatum’s sister from “The Heart of Us”. I adored the two lead characters, Mr. Grumpy and Miss Sunshine, gets under his skin in no time at all, the secondary characters are also amazing. Oakley is an artist who lives in California, the owners of Bennett Orchard Farm in Vermont commissioned her to paint a portrait capturing the essence of the farm. It was all arranged, she flew into Vermont and they sent someone to pick her up, not the friendliest person, but he got her to the farm. The owners, Willa and James, greeted her at the Inn and have a cabin for her to stay and work in. Their grandson Finn will show her around the farm the next day. She was excited about meeting Finn, but the excitement did not last when they told her she had already met him and that he was the one who picked her up, Mr. Grumpy. OMG, the two together were like oil and vinegar, but she did not let his grumpiness get to her, but she sure got to him. There was a festival coming, and they were expecting crowds, though Finn was not expecting his ex-girlfriend, Aspen, to come to help and seeing her again had him off balanced, so he introduced Oakley as his girlfriend. Oakley saw his distress and went along with it, even offering to give up her cabin and stay with Finn, who had no choice but to go with it. I loved how everything played out in this book, it is a beautifully plotted story with a perfect balance of drama, heartwarming and charming humor, heartfelt emotions, and some steamy romance. Kennedy Fox, thank you for another fabulous story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Andi Arndt and Aiden Snow are superbly talented narrators and versatile voice artists. They had a complete understanding of the characters they were portraying, gave each a voice that fit the character’s persona and was believable in every role they played. Arndt grasped every side of Oakley’s personality, her confidence and sunny disposition, while Snow’s Finn was the perfect grump and showed his caring side too. Both were fabulous performing the roles of the secondary characters as well. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the character’s emotions and projected them into their performance and had you feeling every single one. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their narration enhances an already fabulous story to another level. Thank you for another exceptional listen.
