This bit of Americana from the early 20th century is a working-man's "drinking poem" that at the same time warns of the perils of drink, and also perhaps the perils of love. With a short introduction.Public Domain (P)2009 Groark Audio Poetry United States World Literature

I have to admit we have had a replica of the Colorado face on the floor at our family cabin in Montana for maybe 50 years; and I have known the poem for at least that long--and love it.
The poem and the story are great! Unfortunately, the performer has the voice, but is neither appropriately dramatic; nor, does he understand the rhythm. I am not sure I have ever spoken so bluntly about an artist.

Was my Daddy's favorite poem... Quoted this poem all the time... So was glad to hear it. Will listen again.

Fond memories...
