I don’t know what I was expecting.

I’ll say the biggest take away was how much our childhood plays into our eroticism or lack there of and how we need to collectively do a better job as educating our children about all things sex.

Narrator Sucks

This text is essential. Foundational. A must read for anyone diving into understanding eroticism and sexual behavior/choice. But the narrator clearly has no idea what he’s reading. The book is meant to be an educational tool providing scientific and personal insight into how the erotic mind works. But the narrator sounds like he’s angry or getting off half the time. There’s no softness, compassion or feeling in his voice, so it’s really hard to feel those things for the subjects and their authentic experiences.
I highly recommend the text. But read it. Don’t listen to it.

I learned many many things listening to this book. Highly recommended for those who want to increase their erotic life with their partner usable information makes you look inside yourself make you realize that you’re not strange. but in every day human being with the same desires.

The BEST book in sex and psychology

Not only does he write about where the problems first stem, but also about how to address them and change in order to heal and flourish. Amazing info and useful.

This book doesn’t blink. It holds eye contact.

The Erotic Mind is the kind of listen that makes your pulse shift and your thoughts wander somewhere… less professional. Morin’s stories and examples are juicy enough to keep you entertained, but thoughtful enough that you can pretend you’re doing serious personal development.

It builds that tight, aching friction between control and surrender, between knowing better and not giving a damn. Desire, Morin shows, is rarely polite. It wants closeness, yes, but also intensity, risk, meaning.

Morin doesn’t ask what’s wrong with you. He asks what’s true. “Inside, a little voice was saying, ‘This whole thing is wrong… but I couldn’t help myself.’” If you’ve ever wanted someone you shouldn’t, consider this: the things that turn you on might actually be… sacred.

This isn’t just worth a listen. It’s worth losing your focus over.

This is an amazing, thought provoking, sex positive book that everyone should read! I liked it so much that I bought a paper copy to reread and annotate.

The methodology

The audio book doesn’t provide access to the survey in the appendix chapter which limits the listener versus the reader. A PDF document should have been provided.

New level of self awareness

Very interesting information and exercises for anyone to explore. I will definitely reread a few times and hope to discuss these learnings.
