Publisher's Summary

The quadrant is burning. Violent, deadly uprisings are breaking out, seemingly at random, all across the Confederation's sphere of influence. The response by the powerful Confederation Fleet has been swift and decisive, but for every planet they restore order to, another erupts into chaos. Omega Force is working along the frontier worlds when they're forced to come to the aid of a longtime ally and soon realize that the two events are not unrelated. The deeper they dig into the occurrences, the more Captain Burke finds he doesn't know who he can trust as he tries to unravel the mystery and not only exonerate his friend but keep himself, and his crew, alive.

Series continues to delight....very intertaining

Any additional comments?

In my review of the first book of the series, I alluded to being reminded of the TV series "Firefly" and the zesty adventures that they would have. In addition, for folks who been around awhile, the TV series "Have Gun Will Travel" is also in the back of my mind. Again..I hope the Author doesn't disparage these comparisons as I only wish to illustrate my love for the Lighthearted adventures and camaraderie that these stories evoke. Put simply the "Good Guys win and the Bad Guys lose heavily". All-in-all good adventures and a great page turner..

Fairly Entertaining

Very entertaining and explosive ending. One thing I cannot believe is that the author writes that the human main character could not stand the stench of something. Then he follows that up with an incredibly stupid thing to say "and even Crusher scrunched up his muzzle in disgust." It has been made clear that Crusher is like a huge walking wolf with a snout that is 100's of times more sensitive than a human. Knowing this you will realize how stupid the author can be at times. The author makes so many mistakes in his writing, it makes me wonder if anyone else reads his books before they publish them. Like when he says "the odds are astronomically LARGE that anyone else would know it" when referring to other aliens knowing the written words of an unknown alien race of Earth and its human English language. He should of said SMALL. In every book he has to say "heap" like 5 times. IE he landed in a heap. So amateurish. The main character once looked around the galley at empty coffee mugs and trays. If the author was true to his word based on earlier books, this scene would be impossible. As they have cleaning bots in the galley. I do like how the war bot Lucky's character grows in every book. One time someone says, during a space combat scene, that the enemy will come in from the SOUTH. There is no south when in empty space during space combat. One could say to the port side and that would make sense. But the author really does say "south" and I again shake my head at what an amateur writer he is. His story lines are good, writing not so good. If you compared the narrator to RC Bray, then this narrator is a 1 out of a perfect 10.

Another must listen too....

Well this one started off and just picked speed. The plot was really good and not overly thought out!! the author once again gets to the business of telling his story with out being a Pompous word Smith and insulting your intelligence and letting you imagine his universe!!! at that and I really do love his characters. The longer the stories go the more the characters grow and his humor is really good!!

Great listen

Not trite or predictable. Well crafted. Great narration by Mr Heitsch. I found the pacing to be quick which was a surprise for what was mostly a political / conspiracy drama in space.

Best book in series so far

Still lots of action and adventure but it just flowed better.
Get a lot more character building for one of the team at least.

Entertaining series

I really like this series and it goes into to list of books I'll be listening to again and again. The narrator brings the characters to life as the novel keeps me captivated. Mr dalzelle, as long as you keep writing and employing mr heitsch, I'll keep buying

Does not respect the sci genre, really

Ok 4 books is all you're going to get from me, Joshua. The premise of the series, although absolutely unoriginal, is a premise I like to read about, but the author is quite lazy in his world building, even going out of his way in apologizing (kind of) in the text, by saying that all the aliens are kind of the same, bipedal, bilaterally symmetric, because reasons (unmentioned at book 4, i guess he could always have a big reveal after book 15?). This is just one of the indicators that this author is not really very interested in scifi, just churning out adventure pulp.

Simple, yet intricate

Though the stories of this series are quite cut and dry. And you never feel like the main characters are in any real danger. I find myself hooked on the details of books. I am a sci-fi need and this series satisfies me whenever I need a simple and satisfying book to listen to in traffic or painting models. I'll be buying the whole series haha

My first audible

Well l have never thought listening to someone else ra ding a book would be enjoyable, OK l was wrong. Fantastic idea wish l had started using audible books earlier. Liking Dalzelle as a writer probably helped with my opinion, so l am going to try another of his books in the Omega series just to make sure l do enjoy audible.
