Narrator is perfectly fine

i really liked this book. I liked that it has the 'I don't want romantic love because my past trauma' trope, but that the MMC recognizes he most certainly CAN love he just wants to avoid it vs so many MMCs that think they are above love or that love doesn't exist.

Also has a martyr heroine, which I'm a sucker for.

Also, the narrator is perfectly fine. especially if you listened to the previous book before this one, and were already used to Sebastian's voice.

Hummm

This story is good i just don’t love the voices that the narrator decided to use to use for them. Why be so old sounding? And his mother voice did not fit with the characters devious nature. But i still like the story itself

I hate this narrator, Bridget Thomas!

This narrator has a pleasant voice while she is narrating the unspeaking parts of thus series, that is why I can't understand why she speaks the character's voices so awfully! The main character lady sounds like the would-be grandmother in the original movie " The Parent Trap" (with Hayley Mills) and the Duke, Sebastian, sounds like he's a constipated Dandy! All her voices for each character are awful! If I were this author I'd cringe every time I would listen to her narration! The story is good, and that's the only reason I kept listening to this! Jessie Clever seems like a talented author - but I think I will myself read the rest of the books in this series!

Worst narrator

Not sure why the narrator wanted the main character to sound like an old man. It’s so distracting that all the characters sound so wonky. She doesn’t even get the inflections right but I can tell the author was trying to reflect it almost makes it not worth listening to the series.

Good story but…….

The story was pretty good but I almost didn’t finish it because of the narration. Female voices were .. meh. Male voices were absolutely horrible. Sorry I hate leaving unflattering reviews but those voices. bleck.

Cute.. A lot of Literary Filler

I really liked this book but after reading the first book of this serious it left me underwhelmed. I had bigger expectations for Sebastian I had such a crush on him from the first book. Louisa's character was done well except I thought she would be slightly more shrewish but it was alright. I just hate his many times they kept repeating the same things in this book. Literally 40 percent of this book is copy and pasted from its other chapters. I am still a fan of Jessie Clever. I found her books just 3 days ago and I have already finished two books. I love her plots. She has definately joined my list of literary must haves.

Sabastian, Sabastian, Sabastian, Sébastian.......

If I ever hear the name Sabastian again I'll cry. How many times does she say his name in this book. Someone should get a prize for figuring that out. Everything was great except all the repetitive names and the narrators voice for Sabastion.

never again

This book is like listening to someone read a script of a shrink session. nothing happens in this book except for the H&H talking to each other or someone else.. there is nothing interesting in it aside from the miniscule sex parts.

Could be better

This one I had to fight to finish. The story wasn’t all that bad and the narrator was pretty good in the first book but she made the characters sound like craggy old people vs the younger age they were and it took me fighting to get use to it. I liked the little mysteries they had for characters development but I was a little bored with the ending. I wouldn’t have minded an epilogue if possible
