So full of positivity and inspiration!

I thoroughly enjoyed all of Billie Jean King‘s messages and advice in this audiobook. She herself has achieved so much and yet she emphasizes the importance of teamwork and relationships with others to her accomplishments. And the soundtrack with Sarah Bareilles’ music was awesome!

Billie Jean King - she explains her role in forging equality for women in athletics.

Billie Jean King gives an excellent account of her struggles and of her accomplishments in the world of athletics. The women’s movement in America owes her big time. I was very impressed by her delivery and her thoroughness. Every woman in America should listen to her story.

Wonderful

Such an important book. I am so deeply grateful for these women and what they've accomplished. Still so much work to be done, but without these women and in particular Billie Jean King we'd still be at the beginning. And this should be listened to by all.

WOW

I had no idea about this amazing story! Billie Jean King is wonderful and an absolute joy to listen to ❣️ This is a history that should be told far and wide... hmm... since it’s women’s history we must take extra effort to distribute it, but sooo worth the listen! Thank you Billie Jean for taking the time to document this 😊

Enjoyable, I Guess.

This felt like a grandmother sharing a rambling monologue of her proudest achievements which, in fact, are amazing. There are no breaks; it is not divided by chapters or events. It goes from how she got into tennis to playing to professional career to the original 9 group to how to be an activist. It felt too long specifically because it's edited to be one LONG story. I really like the activist portion but the entire piece feels like it has no end. I had to pause it and write this review because it felt like it could've naturally ended four times already. Great points of advice though.

Came for the tennis, stayed for the activism.

Came for the tennis, stayed for the activism. I was so encouraged by BJK's story and how we can apply those lessons to fights for equality in other groups right now. I was laughing, crying, and cheering while listening to this. Will be recommending to friends and colleagues.

Good memories

BJK made a real difference for women! I remember watching her play Bobby Riggs, thinking she’s gotta win for us! Many years later I met Billie Jean at a Women’s Sports Foundation conference. I got a chance to hit with her and after she met my parents who’d loved and watched her for many years. Dad was in his scooter, no longer able to walk (or play). Billie was so gracious with my folks. I’ll never forget her kindness. Mom, who turns 96 tomorrow, still remembers. Thanks for the memories!
