The Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous and 12-step programs across the world have helped millions of people recover from addictions, in large part because of Doctor Silkworth. This study guide focuses on "The Doctor's Opinion".

Doctor Silkworth was the first in his field to look at alcoholism and drug addiction in a disease model that he called "an allergy of the body, and an obsession of the mind." Chapter one is a study of "The Doctor's Opinion". Chapter two is "The Doctor's Opinion" from The Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous. Chapter three breaks down the early history of Doctor Silkworth, Doctor Bob, and Bill Wilson. Chapter four is a history of the Oxford Group and the 12 steps. Chapter five is a study guide. Chapter six is study guide two and offers some of the 12 steps that apply. Chapter seven offers the listeners even more solutions to apply by finding or starting meetings of their own.

This audiobook can be used in drug and alcohol treatment centers, institutions, 12-step group meetings, and for those seeking to recover from addiction from home.

This book is one of the best books that have to do with The Late Great DR. SILKWORTH. If you have read the DR.Opinions and still not sure if your an Alcoholic? Or if your not sure what kind of an Alcoholic you are? Listen to this. You will hear his opinion again but in more detailed compare to the Big Book. I'm not putting down the Big Book. I love that book. I have the original 1939 version of that book along with the 4th edition.

THE LATE GREAT DR. SILKWORTH

Narrator has lousy pace, word pronunciations, and is monotonous in tone. As a talk radio host and public speaker, I quit being irritated early on. The story and message are fine. I know from many years of sobriety. Refund everyones’ $.
