Publisher's summary

An awkward, traumatized omega and a patient alpha determined to court him properly...fate has a way of righting old wrongs.

Stolen from his mother’s arms and reported stillborn at birth, Tom spent nearly 21 years in structured captivity with other stolen omegas. His brothers. A dozen omegas, each with a secret superpower, who now must learn a whole new skill - how to thrive in a modern world.

Not every brother emerged from their past unscathed, and Tom had the worst of it. His key to survival was a healthy respect for rules. Now that he’s free, he’s still a little bit obsessive and a whole lot compulsive. He’s got anxiety, fear of change...and a list of plans for his future.

None of which involved finding a fated mate.

But if they had? His plans definitely wouldn’t have been to meet his dream alpha while smelling of afterbirth and the blood of an enemy killed in defense of his pregnant brother - the same brother whose child he then had to deliver...post-shift and naked.

If he’d been planning, if he’d made a list and checked it twice, Tom never could’ve designed an alpha more perfectly devoted than the delicious one fate put in front of him during one of the craziest days of his life...an alpha so patient, he insists on courting the skittish omega.

The West Coast Wolves is an mpreg series about five alphas. A small pack of bikers who spent years riding the highways and helping those in need until fate gave them each a pack to lead. This full-length novel is Nick’s story. Prepare yourself for a romantic courtship, a perfect first kiss, and more feels and giggles than you can handle. But then again, this is a Susi Hawke book so what else can you expect?

Possible triggers for child abduction, trafficking both past and present, and haunting memories of past abuse that included both humiliation and the non-penetrative molestation of a teenager by a person in authority.

great story

If you haven't read or listened to the other books in this series, this one will be confusing. Here we get Nick's story and he happens to be Tom's fated mate. It was sweet to watch him court Tom and help him work through his issues that come from his past as 15. Nick Russo is also a great narrator and did an awesome job.

This is yet another awesome addition to the series

I love the way the writer does a rewind to catch the reader up from the previous books of the series. Alpha Nick who started the biker gang of five second-born, displaced alphas wolves, joins the ranks of gang members Matthias Longclaw and Lucian Smith in finding his destined omega mate. Nick stumbles across Tom, an awkward and skittish omega that was rescued from the child abduction/omega trafficking group that held him and 14 others captive for about twenty years. It becomes obvious Tom was suffering from a post-traumatic stress disorder and Nick must proceed slowly before being able to affect a mating bond with him through the claim bite. It seems that Tom endured both humiliation and non-penetrative molestation by the teacher who was part of Master's omega-auctioning scheme.
Being successful in fixing things at Newberry Springs pack, Nick is approached about becoming a territory chief after Ash retires. He agrees to be hired as the assistant chief to enter into the training necessary to step into the position within several years. Alpha mate Tom would have a platform for promoting those things he believes in: educational opportunities for all-pack youth and medically trained staff for every pack. Tom begins to open up about his past experiences and warms to Nick as the trust between them grows.
Territory chief Ash contacts Nick and the others about an omega auction being conducted by a successful business shifter who functioning in the human world. The West Coast wolf decides they will join the enforcers to end the omega trafficking. The omega's who were rescued, including Tom, decide they will join in, each having special gifts that will benefit the operation. West Coast Wolves will jump in on it. They bash up the auction and rescue three omegas--one was a young adult in his early twenties who was up for bidding and two were babies that Nick and Tom were very happy to adopt.
Narrated by the wonderful Nick J. Russo, The Devoted Alpha: West Coast Wolves Book 3 was an incredible listening experience. Susi Hawke is exceptional as ever with these beautiful wolf shifters. This book is so well-balanced with the pacing moving from one exciting event to the other. At times there are quiet moments between Nick and Tom. Then there are the funny times between the omega 'brothers', and there is plenty of action as the shifters right wrongs. The triumph of these second-born wolves as competent, caring wolf leaders is a great refrain that never gets old. Everything about the series is excellent from the eloquent writing describing the world and the conflict, and the awesome characters.

My Favorite so far :)

I have loved all of the West Coast Wolves but this is my new favorite! I absolutely love how patient Nick is with Tom throughout the story and how he "courts" him to earn his trust. So very swoon worthy in my opinion! I can't wait for the next book in this series as I'm sure it will be just as good! Excellent narration as well.

Great Addition

This series is awesome! I couldn't wait for Nick and Tom's story after listening to The Defiant Alpha. I loved how Nick courted and was patient with Tom. Nick J. Russo did an amazing job, as usual. Each character has a distinct voice. These are not standalone books. You have to listen to them in order, but you'll want to listen to them all! I can't wait for the next one.

The characters are amazing and the author has done such a great job making a compelling plot that I keep wanting more of and the narrator brought the characters to life in an amazing way! There were so many feelings to go along with a great plot. Nick and Tom were so great together and so supportive. I want more of these characters!

Favorite of the series so far

This story is my favorite so far. Nick took over as Alpha of a pack with more problems than any of the others. Even with part of his pack likely wanting to kill him, he finds a way to save those that need help while making sure those causing problems get taken care of.

On top of everything he had to deal with in the pack, he gets lucky enough to find his omega but it takes a lot of patience and caring to win him over.

His ultimate happy ending is perfect for the man that has the smarts and patience to deal with everything he’s had to cope with.
