Edge of your seat!

What happens when someone you love gets involved with the wrong people? Brian and his brother Beau are grown now but they are forever changed because of something that happened in their childhood, something that is still looking for them, something that won't stop until they have what they want. The fight if their lives is coming for them and they don't have much time, if any, to prepare for what's about to happen. This book had me on the edge of my seat, wanting to listen to chapter after chapter. You need to add this book to your collection. You will not be disappointed. I have read several of John Durgin's books and they just keep getting better and better.

Great narration and story!

Tom Jordan really brought this creepy tale to life! Misery meets Of Mice and Men

Great story with great narration

John Durgin's writing just keeps getting better and better. The prologue was killer. It felt like a scary movie and had me hooked right from the start. The characters were intriguing. The dark family secrets were actually juicy. The mystery and suspense kept me glued to this book. When I had to stop reading/listening and go live my actual life, I was thinking about it constantly.

I went back and forth between the physical book and the audiobook on this one. The cover on the physical book is 5 stars all on its own. There are also little skull designs at the beginning of each chapter that are really fun. The audiobook is narrated by Tom Jordan. Enough said. Whichever format you pick for this book, you are in for a good time.

The story is set in the Fall, so if you are a seasonal reader, now is the time to start this one. What are you waiting for? Go read it!

A dark and dangerous past haunts the Davidsons

This was a horrific dark novel brought to life by the narrator Tom Jordan. The Davidson family moved to a quiet secluded farm in the middle of no where to hide from their past. The story bounces back from the past to the present, and the characters realize things they had forgotten or had never known.
People are being violently killed, and their bodies mutilated by someone but why?
Brian's world becomes smaller when his mom suddenly leaves Bo and him. Tragedy strikes. This book is one nightmare after another for Brian and his brother Bo.
I found I needed to take a break while listening to the story. If you are a horror lover you should enjoy this book.
The writing and narration was top notch, and I really enjoy the work of John Durgin.

Twisty Mix of Family Drama and Thriller

💀💀💀💀/5 The Devils in the Next Room by John Durgin is part creepy occult thriller, part horror and part family drama. It is a unique combination that works well in telling this story. Before I even review the book, I will say that the prologue was one of the creepiest, unnerving chapters in a book that I have read in a long time. If you want to completely creep yourself out, read the prologue all alone in a dark room. The story takes place in rural New Hampshire and centers around two brothers, Brian and Bo, who had a very rough family situation growing up and suffer two tragic losses. After their mother dies, they discover she was holding on to some deep dark family secrets but so was one of the brothers, Brian. While Brian and Bo deal with family secrets, a group of skeleton mask wearing murderers are roaming rural areas, killing everybody they encounter. How these evil murders intersect with Brian and Bo's family is an unimaginable twist you will not see coming. I enjoyed this book a great deal. It does get a little slow at times, but the unique plot, all of the twists, and lets not forget that creepy prologue, more than make up for it! This is a great Halloween season read!

Perfect start to the Halloween season

While not about the holiday, The Devil In The Next Room is the perfect start to the spooky season. It’s like of mice and men meets misery meets a murder cult. With creepy vibes from the start, and—in classic John Durgin fashion—once he steps on the gas there’s no brake until the very end.
Narrator was perfect, loved the tone he set and how rich in personality he was able to make each character.
