Publisher's Summary

FBI agent Sean Malone’s homecoming is interrupted by two things - a pleasant surprise from his youth and a deranged serial killer.

The little tomboy who’d followed him and his brothers around is now grown up and drop-dead gorgeous, and he finds himself thinking about her in ways he’d never done before.

Whisper, North Carolina, where she’d spent her childhood summers, is the perfect place for Grace Whitman to open her new business - especially when she finds her adolescent crush has returned as well.

As the two get to know each other all over again, local law enforcement asks Sean to help find the man who has tortured and killed three women. Will the killer follow his pattern and move on, or has Dare County become his permanent hunting ground?

book was 75% serial killer story and 25% romance

which was good bc I thought they were boring as a couple. A lots of the couple dialogue was slow ( description of equipment and shopping) and then cheesy. I'm not sure why I don't like the couples in this series as I enjoy the author's other series couples. the book could easily remove Grace and be just as good.

I enjoyed the murder plot but had a huge problem. No one, especially the reporter, would have fallen for that.

I am not liking this narrator. He really needs to work on his female voice. Luckily the h had a small role so I wasn't completely turned off by her/ the narrator voice of her like in the first book. He makes a great Uncle Dan, but the more I'm listening to him his voice sounds too old for the characters.

Another Hit!

As usual you can expect nothing less than perfection from a Samantha book! The characters are always solid, the story captures you and they are hard to put down. Can't wait for the next brother's book!!

All for love or murder

Coming back to Whisper, NC to be closer to his family, Sean Malone thinks he will have the next month to relax before starting his new job with the FBI. At the same time the tomboy who used to follow the Malone Brothers growing up has also returned, but now she is all grown up and has caught Sean’s eye. What should be a time of reconnecting and romance turns into a hunt for a serial killer. With so much effort to find the killer, will Sean focus on work? Or will he be able to balance it with the beginnings of a new love in his life? With enjoyable characters and a storyline that had me locked in from the opening moments and with great narration this book should not be missed. I cannot wait for more in this series.
