Publisher's Summary

Tooth. Vice President of the Coffin Nails Motorcycle Club. On a never-ending quest for vengeance. The last thing he needs is becoming a permanent babysitter for a male hooker.
Lucifer. Fallen. Lost. Alone.

After a childhood filled with neglect and abuse, followed by his mother’s suicide, Lucifer set out into the world alone. There was nothing for him out there other than taking it one day at a time. As the bastard son of the Coffin Nails club president, Lucifer never got much fatherly love. So when the Nails show up at the strip joint Lucifer works in, the last thing he expects is to be put in the custody of Tooth, the Nails Vice President famous for his gruesome interrogation techniques. The man proves to be the sexiest beast Lucifer has ever met. He’s also older, straight, and an itch Luci can’t ever scratch.

Tooth’s life came to a halt 12 years ago. His lover got brutally murdered, police never found the perpetrators, and all leads were dead ends. To find peace and his own justice, Tooth joined the Coffin Nails, but years on, he’s gotten nowhere with the case, yet still lives on with the burning fire for revenge.

Babysitting a deeply scarred teenager with a talent for disappearing is the last thing on his bucket list. He promised himself to never get attached to someone like him again. To make sure the openly gay boy is safe in the clubhouse, Tooth is stuck keeping an eye on him. The big, blue, attention seeking gaze is drawing Tooth in, but f***ing the president’s son is a complete no-go, even when both their feelings go beyond lust.

What Tooth doesn’t know is that Lucifer might hold the key to the closure Tooth so desperately needs.

Warning: Contains adult content: a gritty storyline, steamy scenes, explicit language, violence, and abuse.

Pleasantly Dark

So, most MC books are a little dark because in the world of fiction they tend to be over the top violent. Yeah, some are in real life but not as much as an author's imagination. Well, I can tell you the duo that is K. A Merikan are masters of creating dark characters. Characters you shouldn't probably love but you do.

That is how I felt about the character Tooth in this book. He was hard but likable. His methods of torture were very sinister. But his love for Lucifer aka Luce was awesome. Here we have an adult teenager who witnessed his mother take her life and an absent father who for the most part ignored him. So he ran away after his mother killed himself. He was lonely and tried to survive the best way he knew how. When Tooth finds him in a strip club and finds out Luce is actually the son of the President of his MC, he ends up having to watch over him.

Tooth recognizes the vulnerability in Luce from the beginning. His methods of punishment for Luce were a bit questionable but yeah, from the beginning you could see that he cared.

The whole book was great from beginning to end and Wyatt Baker's performance was great. He was great with the distinction of the characters. My only issue was that one would think that the president of a biker mc would have a deeper voice. This one sounded more like an everyday joe. However, it in no way took away from the story.

Great read and great listen. So worth the credit. I would suggest that if you haven't you should check out more books by K.A Merikan. Their writing style tends to draw you in and make you fall in love with characters that if you met them in real life you would give them a wide berth.

Loved It

I received an ARC of this audio for my honest review. I liked listening to the story of Luci and Tooth. Luci started to fall in love with Tooth very quickly even though there was a good age difference and that he didn’t like him at first. I thought Wyatt Baker did a great job narrating this story.

wowzers

Normally I read a book before i listen to it. it's just what works best for me.
This time I was given this audio and asked to listen to it. So I went in blind I have never read this book nor anything by this author before.
Let me just say I am now a fan for life.
This was a slow build romance, with a very complex story and amazing characters.
Luce hides behind his brattiness he thinks if he is brat everyone will stay away and he won't get hurt.
Tooth has the patience of a saint when it comes to Luce.
The sense of brotherhood in the club gave this book an awesome feeling of love and family.
The narrator did an awesome job with the voices in this book. I truly enjoyed it,

Sweet revenge

The more I read or listen to books by K. A. Merikan, the more impressed I am. Until about a month ago, I had never heard of the author.

As with the other books I have heard, this is raw and gritty. Tooth is the VP of a biker gang, and a lot of the members are introduced, but the story is not built around the gang.

Both Lucifer and Tooth have suffered greatly in their pasts, though in different ways. Lucifer reminds Tooth of someone from his past that he has vowed to avenge, even after 12 years of searching and investigating.

Lucifer is the illegitamite son of the gang's President. When he is found selling his assets, so to speak, he is brought back to the gang's residence. He faces a lot of obstacles at first, but he doesn't really have any other option.

The slow burn romance develops the more time the two MCs spend together, but Tooth is not out, and they can't let Lucifer's father find out.

While Tooth is taking out revenge toward someone who hurt Lucifer, he unexpectedly learns a great deal about the people who he has been chasing for his own revenge. Danger never leads to no damages, and the people involved pay a price they for which they were not prepared.

Once justice has been served, even if it's not technically done legally, our MCs must face the inevitable, but they don't give up hope. In the end, Tooth and Lucifer get their HEA.

I thought that Wyatt Baker did a great job with the narration. His character differentiation is really good and his pace is consistent throughout the book. He does need some work with the female characters, but I find this is common for a lot of male narrators with deeper voices.

Couldn’t stop listening!

This story is gritty and totally gripping. The storyline was intriguing and stimulating. The characters were multidimensional and seemed to jump to life. The narration by Baker kept me wanting more. This book was definitely a lesson in compulsion, I had to know what would happen next. I really enjoyed this and it can be a stand-alone for sure.

Soooo good!!

While I enjoyed book 1 in this series, this second book is an absolute cut above! This book follows a different motorbike club to book 1 (although the Coffin Nails do get talked about in that book) and completely stands alone. The MCs are Tooth and Luce (Lucifer) and I adored both men. Tooth is the club president’s right hand and is also the club interrogator - this sounds like it should make him scary but day to day around the club he is the complete opposite. He’s even-tempered, patient, kind and above all fiercely loyal and loving of his family/club members. Don’t get me wrong, if he needs to interrogate someone he enjoys that too!! But it’s never gratuitous or because he loves violence and I really enjoyed this side of both him and the club as a whole. Luce is the president’s son but when the book starts he is estranged from Priest and is working in a bar where he gives lap dances. He’s had a tough past and to keep himself protected he puts on a bratty air and uses what he does as a profession as a lure, a shield and also for the shock value. Underneath this exterior though he’s a frightened, lonely and vulnerable 19 year old. When Priest discovers him at the bar he instantly takes him back to the clubhouse for both protection and a chance at a new life. Priest hands him over to Tooth’s care which is where the fun begins - Luce tries to both escape the club and seduce Tooth, meanwhile Tooth tries to hold his patience at Luce’s antics all while protecting Luce and trying to resist temptation! Their interaction is fantastic as is their chemistry. Combine this with a whole club full of likeable characters and an action packed story of human organ theft and this leads to an amazing story!

I loved how supportive the club members were of each other and how much of a family they truly were and this is a complete opposite to book 1 where there was a lot of violence and the club felt very much every man for himself. There are so many great characters in this club and I am really hoping that I’ll get to know more about them as the series progresses.

Not only was the story fantastic but so was the narration. Wyatt Baker has the perfect voice for this series and he’s quickly becoming one of my favourite narrators.

I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review

Fallen in the best way!😈

This is book 2 in the Sex and Mayhem series and can be read as a standalone.

Tooth, is the Vice President of the Coffin Nails Motorcycle Club.

Lucifer is a scarred, lonely teenager with daddy issues.

Tooth needs someone to look after even though he doesn't want to admut it and Lucifer needs someone to take care of him and love him

Neither of them thought that they could find solace in eachother's presennce.

This was a gritty, sweet opposites attract, age gap romance.

I loved Lucifer and Tooth together.
They were oddly adorable together and I can't get enough of them.

As always Wyatt performs an amazing, narration which was highly enjoyable

Wow, the Tooth Fairy

Great story, but a little harsh and gruesome. But the long burn romance between Lucifer and Tooth shouldn't be happening. Tooth tries for a long time to not act upon his feelings for the young Lucifer.

Being VP of a motorcycle club, Tooth has an image to uphold and being gay is not an option. Plus, Lucifer's dad was the President of their MC club, so that was a major no go.

Great story, great series. I have been listening to them out of order, and it doesn't actually spoil the series.

Narration from Wyatt baker was smooth and easy to listen to, although like normal, I did speed it up slightly to 1.25 - 1.35

Lucky and Tooth

This is the second book in this series which was the first of my introduction to Kat and Agnes Merikan and what a journey that was. They write so differently and the books consume you complete from start to finish. In this second book we come to learn the family around the nails and the dynamics in the club. Tooth is the VP and been in the club ever since Priest, the president found him after his lover was snatched from him. He has been looking for his murderers for years but never catched a trace. Until Lucifer, Priests son from another woman, appears in their life. Lucifer has been drifting ever since his mother blew her brains up and now that he's found again by his father he hopes he can stay and come closer to his new found brother and sister. But some one from his old life is looking for him and so Priest orders Tooth to look after his son. After a while that becomes very necessary when Tooth finds out his former boyfriend murderer is the same one who is after Lucifer. Things get heated not alone in the bedroom but Tooth is not willing to loose another lover. He is determined to catch the organ snatchers and save Lucifer from their clutches. But as like everything that will come at a price. The story is thrilling and narrated very well. If you can't stand blood you probably should choose something more sweet, although you mostly agree that the person has earned his death. After reading the first two books I seriously got hooked.

Another wild ride with the Coffin Nails Motorcycle Club!

Bikie enforcer, Tooth, is given the task of babysitting Lucifer, brash, wayward son of the leader of the Coffin Nails. Both men have baggage and falling for each other is a bad idea. Authors K.A. Merikan write edgy romances - this one contains scenes involving kidnapping, torture, illegal organ trading, and multiple murders, to name but a few. I spend half my time thinking “eek!” and the other half dying to know what happens. I find the bikies a little more articulate and erudite than I’d expect, but they’re always interesting and somewhat sympathetic characters. Despite the fact I NEVER want to meet them, I do find myself barracking for them to find love and grind their enemies into dust! 🎧 Wyatt Baker is a competent narrator with a deeper voice that suits the bikie characters.

impressive

This is a new to me author and I may have listened to this narrator once or twice. Overall it was a great story and narration. I personally felt that sometimes the story dragged a bit but it didn't deter me enough to put the book down. The narrator was good. I was able to get lost in the book with him so he will definately be someone I am willing to listen to in the future.

An enjoyable slow-build romance

An entertaining and lengthy listen. There's a slow-build opposites attract romance between Tooth and Lucifer and includes a mix of well-portrayed secondary characters. The main plot is quite dark, but the story never comes across as gruesome. The ending was swiftly dealt with after a long build-up and I was slightly disappointed with the first part of the epilogue.

The narrator paces the story well with suitable emotions. Although his voice only changes a little for each character, it was still possible to recognise each one and follow the story.

Overall, an enjoyable audiobook. Recommended.

Great read!

I was a little put off by this series when I first read it a few years ago but then I got this book on audible and I’ve not been able to put it down. Baker really brings Merikan’s story alive with his narration and I can’t wait to continue the series.

Lucifer and the Tooth fairy?

Wyatt Baker does a good job of narrating the story and I found the characters to be quite interesting.
I'm a fan of K A Merikan, and I've slowly been getting into the MC books though they're not typically my go-to read of choice.
I enjoyed following the adventures of young Lucifer from the moment he's brutally discovered by Tooth, the Interrogator of the Coffin Nails MC, and it turns out that Lussa has his own connection to the MC in an unexpected way.
Tooth takes Lussa under his wing and their adventures turn out to be quite exciting and dangerous.
Worth taking the journey with Lucifer from scared, but feisty young man to when he comes into his own at the end of the book.

Enjoyed...

Really enjoyed the story but it took me a few chapters to get used to the narrator. After that I thought he was great. The characters were really complex but likeable. I thought the story surrounding the two main characters was really interesting but it frustrates me a little when something really sinister is going on but the characters have to have sex. I ended up flicking through those scenes to get back to the story. This is the first book I've listened to from these authors but it definitely will not be the last.

OMG what a RIDE

I love the connection and passion between these two and their journey has everything and more. I love the somewhat dark and dubiousness of the characters and the suspense was awesome. another fantastic listen!!!
